Chapter 29: SAVE the World

    I reached out to Asriel's SOUL and called out to my friends. They're in there somewhere, aren't they? ...Within the depths of Asriel's SOUL, something's resonating...! A Lost Soul appeared in front of me. Her face was covered by a strange mist. I gave the Lost Soul a big smile, like I remembered she likes to do. For some reason, she sort of wanted to smile back.. "All humans will die!" she proclaimed as my SOUL turned green. Fixed in place, I turned to block all her arrows coming from different directions. Woah! I had almost forgotten how to do it! I asked the Lost Soul to teach me how to cook. She didn't know why, but she kind of wanted to teach me how... "You're our real enemy," she said as more arrows came from different directions. I tapped the Lost Soul lightly. Something about the way I fought was familiar to her... she recognized my fighting spirit... suddenly, memories are flooding back! The mist disappeared. "Well, some humans are okay, I guess!" said Undyne.

I called out again. Within the depths of Asriel's SOUL, something was resonating! Two Lost Souls appeared, again with their faces obscured. I asked one of the Lost Souls for help with a puzzle. He didn't know why, but he really wanted to help me. "I MUST CAPTURE A HUMAN!" he announced. "just give up. i did," said the other Lost Soul. My SOUL turned blue and dropped to the ground. Pairs of bones both above and below me came towards me. I had forgotten how high I had to jump! Several bones hit me, but I was okay. I asked the Lost Soul to cook something for me. The Lost Soul tried to hide his joy... "THEN EVERYONE WILL..." he began. "why even try?" said the other Lost Soul. I let a blue bone pass through me, then jumped over a white... blue, white, blue, white... I told the other Lost Soul a bad pun about skeletons. He seemed to love it... but the other Lost Soul seemed hate it. "you'll never see 'em again." I passed through and jumped over the alternating blue and white bones again. I told the Lost Soul I'd think about what I had done. It seemed like it's trying to remember... After another bone attack, I asked the Lost Soul to take a break from fighting with me. He nodded its head solemnly... seems like he will! Suddenly, the memories came flooding back! The mist around their faces cleared. "nah, i'm rootin for ya, kid," said Sans.

"NO! WAIT!! YOU'RE MY FRIEND! I COULD NEVER CAPTURE YOU!!" said Papyrus.

I felt something faintly resonating within Asriel. A Lost Soul appeared. I asked her what her favorite cartoon was. She could barely hold back from giving me an enormous answer... but then she said, "You hate me, don't you...?" My SOUL turned yellow and flipped upside down. Little mini-Mettatons were coming at me. I shot them out of the way. I wasn't expecting Mettaton's attacks, though I don't know what I could have expected. "I've got to keep lying..." Bombs rained down on me with the blocks on the side. I had to shoot them and then quickly move to the side. I stood, wondering what else to do. I called her on the phone... she started to sweat. She didn't know why, but this all seemed very familiar... "All I do is hurt people." More mini-Mettatons. I told the Lost Soul that I would continue to support her. Suddenly, she remembers... it's all flooding back! "No! That's not true!" said Alphys happily. "My friends like me, and I like you, too!"

I called out again. I felt something strongly resonating within Asriel. Two Lost Souls appeared. I hugged the Lost Soul and told her that I was going to see her again. Something about this was also familiar to her... "This is for your own good," she said. "Forgive me for this," said the other Lost Soul. Concentric circles of fireballs closed in on me again. I ran out the gaps in them. I told the Lost Soul that I had to go if I was going to free everyone. Something was stirring within her. "No one will leave again," she said. "This is my duty," said the other Lost Soul. More concentric circles of fireballs. I told the Lost Soul that I preferred cinnamon over butterscotch. Somehow, she faintly remembered hearing this before... Rows of fireballs came at me from different directions, narrowing as they neared my SOUL. I dodged them. I told the other Lost Soul that I wouldn't hurt him, no matter what. Suddenly, the memories are flooding back! "You are our future!" said Asgore.
