"So you still don't drive?" said Chris as he drove me home today.

"No but I really want to learn. I just don't have anyone to teach me"

"I can teach you"

"I don't know" I smiled.

"C'mon. Its not hard. We could do it right now" he said coming to a stop.

"Now? No. I don't think I'm ready"

"Just follow everything I say and you'll be fine" he said getting out the car.

I moved into the drivers seat and my heart started beating out of my chest.

He sat in the passengers seat and we both put our seat belts on.

"Ok, so you always have to make sure you look in your rear view"

"Check" I said.

"Seatbelt" he said.

"I know the basics. I just need to know how to drive"

"Ok put your foot on the gas pedal and go slow since its your first time"

I pushed my foot on the pedal and the car accelerated.

"Slowly" he said.

"Sorry, I'm nervous" I said.

I gently put my foot on and I actually started driving.

"Your doing great" he said.

I smiled.

"Ok your house is like 2 blocks away. Drive home"

"What? Are you crazy"

"I trust you" he said.

I took a deep breath and managed to turn the corner. I ended on the sidewalk but once I got off, everything was fine. I pulled up in front of my house and saw Liam and Sam coming towards us.

I waved to Liam from the driver's seat. His eyes widened.

Chris and I both got out of the car.

"I just drove home" I said to Liam.

"Wow" he said.

"Well it was only for like 5 minutes but I did it" I said with a huge grin.

"You were really great" thanks for helping me.

"No problem" he said.

"See you tomorrow?" I asked.

"Of course" he said hugging me.

When he left, we all went into the house. Sam went to his room to watch Paw Patrol while I followed to Liam to the kitchen.

"I can't believe I drove home"

"Chris is teaching you a lot isn't he?" Liam said

I could hear envy in his voice.

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing. You've just been spending so much time with him"

"Well I haven't seen him in so long, we're just catching up. Not that it's any of your damn business"

He looked hurt.

I shouldn't have said that.

"Thats not what I meant"

"Whatever" he said leaving.

I followed him.

"You need to stop walking away from me. You've been acting like this all week. Whats wrong with you?"

"Nothing"

"Stop lying"

"I just miss you"

"Miss me? I haven't gone anywhere"

"Mel I really like you. I'm starting to have some real feelings for you but seeing you with Chris this week-" he paused.

"I just miss you"

"You don't need to worry about Chris. Trust me" I said taking his hand.

The next was Saturday. Both of my parents were home. I hadn't seen them home at the same time for so long.

I found Liam in the kitchen.

"Morning" I said.

"Hey" he said.

"Morning honey" my mom said walking in.

"Hi mom"

"Thanks again Liam for coming today. Sam acts crazy when your not here"

"No problem" he said.

"So Mel I heard Chris is back"

"Yea, I've been hanging out with him this week"

"Really. Are you guys getting back together" she asked smiling.

"NO" I said.

I felt weird talking about this with Liam right there.

"Well I invited him over for dinner tonight."

"Why?"

"Its a welcome back dinner"

"Thats really unnecessary" I said.

"Liam your invited to"

"No, no It sounds like a family thing, I don't wanna intrude" he said.

"Like it or not you are family" she smiled. "Please come"

He sighed.

"Sure" he said politely

"Great" she smiled walking out of the kitchen.

"Im so sorry" I said to him.

"Do be. I can handle one night" he said with a weak smile.

I gave him a peck on his lips. "I'll make it up to you." I said grabbing his area and smiling.
