Chapter: 16

It was Monday morning. A.k.a Christmas eve.
My head was pounding. I buried my face in my pillow. I finally managed to get up and walk downstairs.

The house was empty and I found a note on the fridge from my Mom that read.

Hey hun, gonna be home early today so can you and Liam go to the grocery store and pick up some things. Thanks love ya XOXO.

I sighed and made myself a cup of tea. I was drinking it silently when Liam and Sam walked through the door. Sam ran straight upstairs with his bags while Liam walked in the kitchen.

"Look who's feeling better" he said

"Do I look like I'm feeling better?"

"Did I do something?"

I couldn't remember much from last night but what I did remember was Liam leaving me alone for so long.

"You left me alone for more than a whole hour there. I was bored out of mind. I didn't know anyone there so I started to drink. You took me there to make me feel better but how was I suppose to feel better when I was alone?"

"I asked you and you said Yes so don't turn this on me"

"I didn't mean for the whole time. Oh and on top of that your devil ex girlfriend"

"Look I'm sorry about that. I didn't even know she would be there"

"You said that party would cheer me up but I feel worse. I was depending on you to help me but I was so wrong" I said walking away.

I called Liv and she wen't along with me to the supermarket. I told her about what happened last night.

"Thats fucked up" she said as we entered the store

"My head is still killing me"

"So you guys aren't speaking ?"

"Nope."

"I wish I was there. I would have given his ex more than words"

"Oh I forgot to mention I threw up all over her" I said laughing

She high fived me and we both laughed.

"But listen Mel" she began "I know it seems bad but I'm sure that leaving you was not his intentions. Don't be so hard on him. Leave that to me" she smiled.

"I guess so" I said

We'd just left the supermarket. I was putting bags in the car when Liv called my name.

"Mel look at that" she pointed.

About 4 cars down was Hyde. He was opening the door for someone else. A short girl with short red hair. I didn't take me long to realize it was the same girl from the staircase.

Liv immediately began walking towards them.

"Hey" she said to him.

"Liv what are you doing here"

"I'm here with Mel, and who are you here with?"

"Uh this is my friend Paula" he said awkwardly

"Excuse me?" said the girl looking at him.

I walked up beside Liv.  "C'mon Liv lets go"

"Well look who it is" said the red head.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Asked Liv

"Thats the girl who told Hyde to stop seeing me"

She turned and looked at me.

"What is she talking about?"

I was quiet for a moment. In this moment I knew exactly what was happening. In a few seconds I was going to loose my best friend.

"Liv I knew Hyde was cheating on you. When I caught him, I told him to stop seeing this girl and to treat you better. I only did it because I knew he made you happy"

Tears were streaming down here face.

"So you both went behind my back. Him I expect this from but really Mel ? I'm supposed to be able to trust you."

"You can"

"No I can't. I can never trust you again. Either of you. I hate you both" she said walking away.
