Why do you write?
@thefallsofgrace- For me it's an escape. I can be whoever I want and totally forget this world. It's the same reason I read, but there's more because when I write I can have the control and chose where and when I want to go and who I want to be. I feel almost like I can fix any problem when I write and I have the courage to say things I never would out loud. The best part of writing though is when others read it, which is why I love wattpad so much. I get super excited with just one read because I made someone feel something and think. Really, I guess, I write to keep myself sane. The written word, to me, has the greatest power in that, even a millennium from now, someone could read what I write though I and anyone who knew me are long gone. It's like it's not restrained by time. I can talk to and relate with Charles Dickens one moment, then turn around and talk to people whose parents aren't even born yet. The Great Conversation as C.S. Lewis calls it. That gives me chills.
@TeaAndScones- It's actually....embarrassing. I grew up in a family that always was moving. So I never was able to really make true friends. When I write, I like to picture myself in the story and have the childhood/school life that I never had.
@fight_love_dance- I write because this is my only way of escaping reality including music. Writing helps me relax and write down all my thoughts and fantasies and turn them into stories
@PancakeJune- I write because I love it. Writing portrays all emotions, all inspirations and everything around us. It's also great fun, it helps with school and you can develop your writing even further because there's no limit.
@CaptainJackAttack- I write because it's a way for me to express myself through creativity and imagination (:
@Sepherene- I write for many reasons. At times it's a stress reliever, at times it's a break from reality. The outer world gets stressful at times, but when I write I seem to forget about everything else going on around me c: Unlike reality, I have the power to control the world in my books.
@Iron_Angel- I write because I enjoy doing it. I have always liked writing ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil (and be able to actually write of course). When I was younger I would start out writing things that entertained myself. I would write children's books that were happy and usually talked about animals. But now that I have grown up I start getting more in depth with my books. I put more detail and work into my stories than I used to. I like writing for other people and getting wonderful feedback from people who read them. It makes me happy to think that people are actually enjoying my books.
@xoxBrightNightxox- I write because it helps me disconnect from a world with too much of drama, immatureness and sarcasm. My writing is a river that reflects my attitude.
@MissCharmedCat- I enjoy writing because it allows me to express my creativity and gives me free rein to be in control of something that is entirely my own.
@FloatingLights- Why do people listen to sad music? Mainly because they have this sort of connection with the artist. They feel the exact pain and heartbreak the artist inserts in the songs, and that is why I write. I want people to read about a person's pain, love, and joy altogether. Life isn't just full of happiness and anxiety, it's a climb. For you to reach the highest peak of contentment, you should walk over sadness, agony, and pain; but you realize that after that pain you suffered with, the tiny percentage of happiness you get in return is fully worth it.
@will24951- I write because I enjoy it, creating characters and story lines. When writing it so great to experiment by putting characters in different situations and then just improvising what might happen, it's very similar to acting. That's why I believe books are so easily converted to films.
@BmaidF- I was bullied a lot as a kid and writing became my thing, writing became my only freeway.
@ShaylaRah- A lot of reasons - partly because I want to be a published author someday, partly because I feel like I have to write or I'll go insane, but mostly because I love writing.
@shineheart- Writing is a great way to express yourself. Writing is also a great way to say the deep emotions you feel inside. It's an opportunity for everyone to be themselves.
@Repunzel2013- I write to release my emotions. Some people do this negatively, through acts of violence and such, but I find that I am able to do this through writing, which is much safer for not only me but the people around me as well. I also find that I write better when I'm feeling a strong emotion; as I'm able to connect to the reader better. Writing, more simply, is my escape.
