Waking up the next morning after being knocked out by pain medication the night before wasn't pleasant, especially now that the medication had worn off and the wound in my thigh was excruciating. I sat up in the huge bed that Jay and I used to share and looked to the alarm clock on the bedside table, pausing slightly at the date displayed. What was happening today? Why did I have a subconscious feeling that today was an important date?

I shrugged off the odd feeling and slowly got out of bed, trying not to put any weight on my injured leg as I got dressed in gym leggings and one of Jay's old sweatshirts, not caring that it was his or that all I could smell was his aftershave; I just wanted to be comfy.

A knock at the door grabbed my attention so I hobbled over and pulled it open, greeted with Charlie's smiling face.

"Morning Princess, want your dressing changed?" I rolled my eyes at his over-enthusiasm and opened the door wider so that he could come in and start setting up his first aid kit on the bed. Once I was seated back on the bed without my leggings on and he had begun to work on my dressing, I felt the need to ask him a burning question.

"Is something important happening today?"

"What do you mean Princess?" He replied, not looking up from his work on my thigh.

"I have this gut feeling that I'm forgetting about something today... Today is important but I just can't remember why. It's like the answer is on the tip of my tongue but I can't grasp it." Charlie looked up at me with a frown on his face, not quite sure how to answer my enquiry.

"Nothing is happening that I can think of... Maybe you should ask Boss."

"Why do you still call him that? You know that you have power over him, you're basically the vice to his position so you don't need to cower underneath him like everyone else does. Call him Jay, you deserve that respect Charlie."

"That's debatable I guess." He finished wrapping my thigh back up and gave me my leggings before standing up. "You need to go down to the training warehouse after you've eaten and taken some medication because Seb is waiting for you. James has been doing some training with him but he's still your responsibility according to Boss."

"I'll be down as soon as possible." I replied, effectively dismissing him. Why couldn't I get over the feeling that I was forgetting something? I had to ask Jay, something wasn't quite right.

By the time I had eaten breakfast and instructed James on how to train Seb it was 10AM so I decided to head to Jay's office to see if I could figure out what was happening today. I approached the door and pondered for a second or two on whether I should knock or not but before I could decide, the door was pulled open to reveal Jay looking like he was about to leave.
