**CHAPTER SONG: Jessie Ware - Say You Love Me**
"What just happened?"
"Which part?"
"Oh I don't know, the whole random mad guy threatening me and the shoot out and the escaping and running away and-"
"Whoa Princess, take a breath." Jay chuckled and led me back over to the sofa where I'd been laid previously. He turned to Bones as we sat down and gestured to the door. "Go get Speedy, Charlie and James, get Marcus and Tommy to sort out the damage and the casualties."
Bones nodded and scurried out before Jay turned to me and pulled me into his lap so I straddled him, the way that we always used to.
"I've never been so scared about something before... Don't ever run off like that again, for the love of God, please Jessie." He leant forward and rested his head on my chest as I began to run my hands through his hair.
"I'm sorry... I've spent the last two years not having to answer to anyone or think about the consequences of my actions... And then suddenly I'm back here with all these dangers and people out to get me and it's just hard to adjust to I guess." He sighed at my reply and lifted his head so that he was making eye contact with me again.
"I'm sorry that you have to deal with all of this but this is me. I can't change what I do, there is no way out of this life and you know that... Well, apart from you I guess, but you're just lucky."
"I wouldn't say that... I'm here now aren't I?" His expression became slightly pained and I wondered if I had offended him.
"But are you going to stay?" He whispered but before I could reply, someone cleared their throat from behind us. My face flushed and I tried to get off of Jay's lap as the three guys walked in and sat down on the other sofas, but he gripped my waist with such force that I thought I would snap.
"Jay let go of me, we can't have a serious conversation if I'm sat on your lap."
"I'm more than capable of having a serious conversation with you on my lap." His signature smirk appeared on his face but I just raised an eyebrow at him which soon made him let me go.
"So we need to talk about what the hell just happened." I started, sitting next to Jay as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into him so that I was only one move away from being on his lap anyway. I guess there's no fighting him, he's always been stubborn as hell.
"That guy you met in the hairdressers is Kaspar Straine, he's the boss figure in The Zemsta." Charlie explained and my eyes widened slightly.
"So I walked into a Zemsta owned hairdressers?" I asked, my face reddening.
"That you did." Speedy replied and the four guys seemed to smile as if my ignorance was amusing.
"What does Zemsta even mean? It's the most random word, I swear." I asked, curious as to why I'd never known this before.
