I appreciate all your supportive words, it's a bit hard to do everything at one day right now. Although, I keep sneaking in chapters as hard as I can. Just for all you, that is.

Chapter 11: Candy Theft

Your POV

I woke up and for a second, I forgot that my parents are dead, that my sister is also dead. I forgot why I'm even here or that I am a half shinigami. But then, everything came crashing into my brain like a train that crashed to a defenseless child.

I am a half shinigami.

Bam, right in the face.

"You're awake huh?" The shinigami suddenly said beside me. I saw him pass through a wall so I'm not really surprised by his sudden voice.

"Obviously." I snapped. I don't need to see another reminder of me, being a half shinigami.

What? That's rude.

"Sorry." I sighed. Combing my finger through my (Hair/Color) hair.

"Don't get too worked up about it. Actually, can you get me more of this goodies?" Dan asked. He was suddenly holding up a candy and plopped it into his mouth.

"Where did you even get that from?" I asked him sleepily.

"So, could you?" He asked, avoiding the topic. I looked at him suspiciously.

"Okay. Where did you get that from?" I asked him sharply.

"D-don't glare at me like that! Okay, Okay! I roamed around this place and I found it in a room where a white sheep-boy was solving some kind of puzzle. Jeez." He rambled.

"Sheep-boy? Phew, good thing it wasn't- IT WAS NEAR!!" I exclaimed. My eyes widened. Oh no. If he noticed what will he think??

"Why the hell would you do that? You should've asked! He's L's successor and he's extremely intelligent, what if he finds out?"

"Finds out what?" A monotone voiced Near opened the door. Doesn't he know how to knock?

"What?" I asked him.

"I heard you screaming about something like 'What if he finds out?'" He said.

I saw my phone right beside me. So I came up with an excuse.

"Family matters," I muttered.

"You don't have a family." He bluntly replied, twirling a strand of his white locks.

Ouch.

Dan laughed next to me, I tried my best not to glare at him and tell him to shut up. It would just give Near a lot more confusions, no. It would give him more pieces to solve the puzzle.

"It doesn't involve you so it doesn't really matter. I'll be in the observation room later. Out. Now." I sharply said. It's unbelievable on how he can bluntly say that. It's better this way, any more pitiful looks and I might actually die of a heart attack.

He looked at me, trying to figure me out. Nope, I won't allow it. I kept a blank face and made eye-contact with him.

"You shouldn't have done that. I can easily see your emotions in your eyes. Fear, anger, confusion, shock, surprise, hurt. It's as clear as crystal glass." He said.

"Whatever. Get out." I mumbled. I heard the door close and Dan burst out laughing.

"You too Dan. Don't ever do that again." I told him quietly.
