Chapter 26: Matt's Demise

Your POV

Halle and I, along with the other 2 bodyguards waited for Takada to finish his meeting with Light Yagami outside the hotel. Like literally outside, not even at the door where they're holding the meeting.

They've been having a meeting every night now. Which makes me wonder, Have they already found a way to talk to each other without surveillance? Surely. They might be passing notes to each other, but if they are the surveillance camera would've seen it by now.

Light exited the hotel and while that happened. I can see a figure in the darkness, watching Light move as if he was suspicious of him. I could tell it was a guy because the figure seemed masculine. 

Takada got into the car as we followed. The figure from before was heading to the hotel. Wait a second, Is that Light's comrade? Shuichi Aizawa, part of the Kira Task Force? He must be! I mean his face looks similar to the one in the picture I saw of him.

I sighed boredly in my bed. I'm so bored, and I can't even talk to Dan because there might still be voice recorders somewhere in this room.

I got under the covers and opened my phone for updates at the SPK. I saw a new text message and opened it.

"Shuichi Aizawa wanted to talk and meet Near in person. Aizawa was blind folded at first but they removed it soon afterwards letting him see and react to Near's appearance. He confirmed that Kiyomi Takada and The Second L was passing notes to each other and are meeting up every night. Near had also revealed little bits on his plan that involves Aizawa and The SPK. Please  delete this message as soon as you finished reading it." 

Oh well, looks like they've found a way to contact each other. I deleted the message and slumped back down to my bed. Where are we heading to? It is entirely impossible to predict the future, will we win? Or lose against Kira? From the beginning it had been a never ending battle between L and Kira, predicting each other's plans and acting like there's nothing going on. If Near's plan fails, I don't know where we are gonna be heading. We might even be heading to our own deaths.

It's the pop music festival, I couldn't help but feel like a bad thing is gonna happen soon. Like, a death? or deaths? The pit of my stomach contains a weird feeling and my body is feeling so anxious.

What the hell's gonna happen now? It couldn't be Kira right? 

Takada, announced everyone about Misa Amane not being able to perform the opening, which of course worried and confused the people watching. Halle and Rester had probably took her to the SPK's current base now. I wish I would've gone with them, I'm stuck guarding Takada here. They're not even allowing bodyguards to use cellphones! Well I guess that makes sense, but it's so boring and I feel useless.

This is just one part of the plan, but everyone's being so useful except me. What am I supposed to do? I wasn't given any particular instructions other than 'Be alert and keep watch.'

The rest of the festival was uneventful. Gevanni had done a good job, he isn't dead too much to Halle's relief. No one died... yet. Takada and Light had another meeting of which I'm sure was basically passing notes to each other. Some sly bastards they are.
