My mom suggested I would take a job this year in the summer to own some money for college. Ususally I would spent the summer holidays hanging out with friends , having fun. But it seems like this week I will be working.

I chose to hlep at a play school for little kids. Its not really hard work and i like kids. But I am still far from excited or wanting to do it.

"Hello Laura , nice that you are here on time" The old lady hold out her hand for me to shake and continued talking ..."ad over there are the books. Oh come meet Ross , you two will be working together " . I looked around to see that "Ross". He was my age , maybe a little older. he certainly was a lot taller than me and he had cute blonde locks. 

"How about you just play with the kids? or read to them ? Just entertain them. I am busy with other stuff" She left and I stood there not knowing what to do. "Ross can we play a game?" A little girl with ibg blue eyes and short blonde hair looked up at him giving him puppy eyes. "Sure. Who wants to play too?" he asked looking at the other children. A few raised their hands while others prefered drawing and coloring. 

"You in too?" he asked and I hestinated but nodded. Thats not how I imangined my job. I felt someone grab my arm and push me away a little from the kids. It was Ross. It felt weird , kinda tingly. But I just went with it and looked at him with a questioning look. What does he want? 

"If you wondered what Miss Pride is doing. Shes not actually busy. She is there smoking and probaly doing whatever....but she doesnt like kids or spending time with them. She hires a few high school students every year to take care of the kids and always says "shes busy" . Every day" he explained. he was standing close to me , pretty much whispering in my hair. Ross probaly didnt want the kids to hear.

"How do you know?" I asked. " I worked here last year already. Its not how I imagined it but I love working with the kids...and they need someone to entertain them. lets go and play that game!" 

It actually wasnt bad. Ross is really sweet wth the kids and i think they liked me too.

After Ross read a story to them while I listened and then we colored with  the kids. Now we are waiting for the parents to pick up their children. "Hello Ross. How are you? back to work in the summer?" "Yep" he answered. "And who is this? Your girlfriend?" "No . Thats Laura. She works here now too" he put his arm around my shoulder while speaking. I blushed . What was that for? 

All the kids got picked up. "So you liked your first day?" He asked me as everyone was gone. We were leaning on the wall in the hallway. "I guess. The kids are really sweet and you are swe...uhm I mean ...just Miss what was her name? Shes...not there" "Are you nervous?" he looked me in the eyes , one eyebrow raised. "UHm no ? Why would I...haha" I trailed off akwardly. "Dont be nervous. I wont judge. I am happy to have someone here . After Mr Kight quit last month " He lied his hand on my shoulder giving me a squeeze. This is weird. We met each other today and yet we are kinda.....close. And I like it.

"I guess I will see you tomorrow " He said and I nodded. "Yeah ...  ähm...see you" "Dont be so akward , little one" He said giving me a hug. His arms went around my upper back and for a second or two he pressed me against his chest. I am not really a hugger and for me its akward to hug people I only met a day ago. But still i hugged me him back with my left arm around his back. "I am not little" I said after we pulled away. 

"You are. See you tomorrow , little one" With that he left.

I guess I will see him tomorrow in the job.
