CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

*Chapter 21*

Niall was coming home today! I was so happy and excited I couldn't even sleep the night before.

I was going to go over to his house and surprise him but I thought I would let him relax a little, then go over.

I woke up this morning smiling and happy. I hugged everyone and even kissed Louis on the cheek, I was so happy! They all looked at me like I was absolutely crazy. Maybe I was, but I didn't care.

My boyfriend was coming home today and that's all I cared about.

After lunch I called Niall and he answered, but he seemed a little upset.

"Hey Mimi" he said, sounding gloomy

"Hey Niall! How much longer till you're home?" I ask sweetly.

"About an hour"

He didnt seem like he really wanted to talk.

"Cool, so what time would you want me to come over?" He would obviously want me over. I mean, after all that talk of a homecoming present I think he would enjoy me being there.

"Actually can I just be alone tonight?"

I was confused, he wanted to be alone?

"I guess, why?" I didn't want to sound nosey.

"I'm just tired, I want to be alone for a while"

"Well...alright I guess. Just call me whenever okay? Ill be here"

"Okay bye"

Niall hung up before I could say anything else. I sighed and walked into the kitchen. Running into Taylor while she was making a cake.

"Why are boys so confusing?" I groan as I get a pop out of the fridge.

Taylor laughs, "you're just figuring this out now?"

I stand up and watch her mix the cake batter.

"I knew that for a while its just...when a boy talks about a "homecoming present"" I put air quotes around that "then when you are going to give it to him he tells you he just wants to me alone, does that mean anything?" I ask my sister.

She turns to me.

"Maybe he wants to touch himself to the thought of you giving him that present"

I cross my arms over my chest.

"If you were a boy would you rather touch yourself or get the real thing?"

"Oh... Yeah. I guess I didn't thinly hay through" she shrugs and turns back to her cake.

"Should I just go over there?"

"No! You'll make a fool of yourself, I mean, maybe if he didnt tell you that he wanted to be alone that would be okay but he did tell you he wanted to be alone so..."

I sigh and walk outside. It was snowing pretty hard, I decided just to sit on the porch and wallow in my sadness like the freak I am.

I looked up at the sky and watch the snow fall. It was so quiet and peaceful, I could stay like this forever.

I let out puffs of air and watched them deteriorate into the air. I sort of laughed at myself, instead of being with my boyfriend I was watching my breath in the cold snow.

My mom came out and said she needed to talk to me.

"Niall didnt really have to come home early Mimi, his parents told me he left the hotel to come home. Would you mind checking on him when he gets home?"

I roll my eyes. Niall always has to start drama.

I text Niall asking if he's home and he says almost. Which means he probably is.

I walk in the house to get my jacket and boots.

Once everything was on I started to walk over to Niall's house. I didn't hurry or anything, I took my time. I played on my phone, texted kaitlyn asking if she was busy this weekend, I even started to play a game.

When I was on Niall's street I started texting him so he would think everything's normal. But I never got a text back.

I didn't think that this was that serious, I just thought Niall wanted the attention. I mean, he usually always wants attention.

I got to Niall's house and knocked on the door. No one answered. I tried to open the door but it was locked. I knocked on the door again.

"Niall! It's me! Open up, I'd like to see you!" I smiled.

I tried texting Niall again, hoping for a response.

Nothing.

I was starting to get worried.

I tried opening the door with a bobby pin, I tried climbing through the window, but nothing worked.

Then I heard a loud bang come from inside.

That's when I knew, exactly what was going on.
