Jason's pov
It's been three weeks since I've had any alcohol. I'm a man who will admit when there's a problem. I'm addicted to alcohol. There I said it. So not being able to drink is driving me completely insane. My head's pounding, my hands won't stop shaking and I'm this close to shooting myself in the damned head. I stay seated since I get super dizzy whenever I get up. Miranda walks in. "How are you doing?" She asks. "Horrible." I whisper, staring at the floor. "Where are the girls?" "Upstairs. We're all about to go to dinner. Do you want to come with us?" "I-I don't want the media catching me like this." I shakily say, looking up at her. She looks like she's about to cry. I force myself to stand up and hug her. "It'll all be okay right?" She whispers. "Of course baby. A few more weeks of this and I'll be okay. Thanks for convincing me to kick alcohol. It's been controlling my life for four long years." Keely suddenly runs into the room. "We're ready." She says. She then stares at me worried. Anytime she sees me that's what she does. "Hey dad, you comin' with us for dinner?" I shake my head and sit back down. "Please come with us." She says, walking over. "I can't honey. Just bring something back for me."
Miranda's pov
I get the girls in the car then walk back in. "Are you gonna be okay by yourself?" He nods slowly as if he's in a daze. "What do you want me to bring back?" "I-It doesn't matter." I sigh, worried. I hug him goodbye and go with the girls to a burger joint. "Is dad gonna be alright?" Kendyl asks biting her lip worriedly. I sigh and stare at the food I haven't even taken a bite out of. "I hope so sweetie." I finally say.
Jason's pov
I open my eyes when I hear the door close. Miranda walks in our room. "Hey hun." I say, waving. She smiles and lays beside me. "Got ya a burger and fries." "I'm not that hungry." I mumble, shrugging. I close my eyes again then feel a hand on my chest. I open one eye and smile. "What are you doing?" I ask, putting a hand over hers. She smiles. "Hopefully getting your mind off everything." She whispers in my ear. I bite my lip with anticipation and nod. She sits up and kisses me, my hands finding her hips and pulling her on top of me as we make out. She claws my arms, making me grit my teeth. She pulls my shirt off. "You never told me what this tattoo stood for." She says, pointing to my chest where I have a fireball tattoo. "Fireball whiskey. First drink I ever had." I say, shrugging. I'm so glad she took me back cause she's definitely getting my mind off it.
*the next day*
Mike, my manager shows up at the door. I love him like a brother. "Hey man, how's it going?" "Whoa Jason, you look horrible! What's up?" "Oh nothin' just trying to kick an age old alcohol addiction. Going through withdrawals." "Hey funny you should mention withdrawals. I have a new song for you with that title." I scratch my head a little surprised. "Come in, Mike." The girls are having a spa day so it's just me. I read over the song and like it a lot. "I'll cut it after I kick this. Cause I've got some stuttering problems going on." "Ok ready when you are. Good luck with all this." I nod and he leaves. I have an idea for a song for myself too!
Miranda's pov
We get home and I hear Jason singing. "You tie the knot when I'm at the end of my rope, ya never stop believin' in me when I don't know who I am or what I'm supposed to be, I don't give ya no good reason but baby don't give up on me!"
Jason's pov
I hear the door open and turn around. I smile seeing my girls. "Hey baby girl, turns out when I'm in the zone with singin', I don't shake or stutter." I smilingly walk over to her and kiss her passionately, her arms wrap tight around my neck as mine tighten around her waist. "I uh I wanna ask ya somethin' and it's okay if you're not ready and ya don't wanna yet."
Miranda's pov
Huh? "Wait right here." He says then runs to our room. Seconds later he comes back down. "Girls, can we uh get a little privacy?" He asks. They both go to their rooms. "Sweetheart, you put up with so much crap dealing with my stupid ass and you fight and don't give up. I don't know how you do it." His hands shakily grip mine. "I know I've made alot of mistakes and made your life a living hell. But if you'll take an old sinnin' cowboy, I'd love to as you for your hand in marriage." He drops to one knee and pulls out a ring, tears in his eyes. "Miranda, will you marry me?" Tears fall down my cheeks. "Oh wow, Jason!" I gasp, my hands flying to my cheeks. "Yes I will marry you!" I say, hugging him tight. "I love ya hun." He whispers. "I love you too, Jason, the baddest bad boy in the history of moonshine huntin' and sellin'." I whisper back.
