Jason's pov
I take the girls to the beach down in Florida. B texted me about moonshining again but I politely declined. I watched my youngest daughter running along the beach. Miranda was sunbathing and Keely was playing in the water. I turned on my Pandora and plugged in my headphones and fell asleep.
*in his dream*
A dude with shades stood in the middle of the forest. "Who are you?" I ask, walking over. "Eric. It seems you've taken my place on B's team." My eyes go wide. "You're... You're the g-guy be killed!" He sighs and nods. "He was stupid back then. You've changed him for the better." I smile. He vanished and it's replaced with the beachouse. Mom was drinking lemonade. She handed me a glass and told me to keep an eye on Kasi. "You got it mom." I say, waving. She heads inside and I hear the front door close. I don't think anything of it til I hear my mother's shaking voice say, "How was work?" Shit! Then I think... I'm not a scared kid anymore. I walk inside determined. He pushed her against the wall, his hands tight on her hips. So tight it would leave bruises. "Get off her, dad!" "Go outside!" Mom gasps, crying out in pain afterward. "Do what mommy says little boy!" "I ain't a little boy anymore." I whisper, pulling out my pistol. "Back the hell off dad. Or we're gonna have us a long awaited grudge match." He smiles. "You think you can take your old man? Well bring it." He rushes at me but I slam him in the stomach with my pistol. I trip him and kick him in the head. He lets out a groan and I shoot him in the head, the look of shock on his face, mirrors not only my mother's or my own but also my little sister's who just ran in as I pulled the trigger. "You killed him!" She gasps shocked. I nod and reholster my pistol. "I'm tired of being a punchin' bag!" I shout annoyed, stomping off.
*he wakes up*
I shoot awake, caught off guard. Brantley's song Hell On Wheels started playing on the Pandora sending chills down my spine. My heart is racing. "The kids went to bed, Jay." Miranda whispers, pointing to our hotel. The sun had gone down. "I'm gonna get you pregnant again if it kills me." I whisper, pulling her close to me.
