Miranda's pov

Poor Jason. I sit down after B tells me all that. "That's right around the time he became a moonshiner with me." He says, rubbing his chin. I walk off the bus to look for him. I find him leaning his back against a tree. I accidentally step on a twig and his head snaps up along with a pistol. "Go back to the bus." He slurrs. I quickly run over and slip the gun from his hand. He sits back down. "You're drunk." He nods. "Come on. Let me help you up." "I don't need help. Just leave me alone." He gripes, pulling free. I sigh and sit beside him. "Go back to the bus." "Not without you." He runs a hand through my hair. "Keely had the same blonde hair as you." He whispers. "Long. Straight. Blonde. Somehow never having knots. I remember asking her one day about it, she replied with blonde secret society. We tell no secrets." He says then laughs. I lay my head on his chest. He sighs softly, a hand gripped tight around my waist. I realize he's fallen asleep. I try to get up but he holds tight. "Uh Jason. We need to get back to the bus." But it doesn't wake him up. I pull out from under his grip and get back to the buses. I tell B and he and Justin exchange worried looks. They come back carrying a drinking coma Jason and set him on the couch. "I wish he had his girls. That way he wouldn't do this." Justin says. B nods, looking at him. "Do you guys know what his girls look like?" I ask, glancing at them. They exchange looks. "He's got a picture in his wallet." I get his wallet out and find the picture and it's a family photo. He had a wife before me. They're both wearing rings. I wonder what happened. I take a picture of it with my phone then slip it into his pocket again. I stand up and smile. I will find his girls. I kiss his cheek and walk off the bus. The guys call after me but I don't answer them.

Jason's pov

I finally get rid of my hangover only to discover my girl ran off. Probably couldn't handle the crazier side of me. Good girls don't fit well with me anyway. "You haven't even asked about Miranda." B says. I shrug. "She couldn't handle my bad boy side. I never shoulda picked her up." I mutter pissed. Man I'm mad. I don't know why. "How'd she even get home?!" They look at each other. "She didn't go home." Justin says as if it's something I should know. I don't care where she is. She left me. "She went to find your girls." My eyes go wide. "She what? How's she gonna do that!?" They both shrug. She took a picture of the picture you have in your wallet then she walked out." I fall back to the couch wide eyed.

I'm a private investigator. Even though he doesn't know obviously. I was hired to bring the three bandits in but.... I couldn't. I fell in love with the cowboy. I go back to his hometown in Georgia. "Has anyone seen this woman?" I say, pointing to the girl in the picture. "Or the two girls." The man I was talking to looks sad. "How did you know Mrs. Ussery?" "A friend of her ex husband." "Well she passed away last month." My eyes go wide surprised. "Do you know where the girls are?" He nods.

Jason's pov

Brantley gets back on the bus after talking on the phone. "Who's hungry?" He asks. I'm starved. "You know til the cops die down, we have to keep ourselves out of the open." I mutter tossing a baseball in the air bored. It's been three months since she set out to find the girls. She was doomed when she started. I knew she wouldn't find them just like I couldn't. I throw the ball in the air again. "Who cares dude? Remember we don't give a shit about cops!" He gasps. I roll my eyes. He's right. I don't care what happens to me. I'm just living life by the seat of my pants. "Yeah alright B where are we going?" "O Charley's." I stop short. I shake my head. "Not there. I can't and don't go there." That was Kendyl's favorite restaurant. We went there after every soccer match and track meet. "Dude I'll skip it." I say, sitting back down, my hands getting clammy. "Jason, listen to me closely. You really wanna do this. Trust me." I stare at him worriedly. "Have I ever steered you wrong?" He hasn't. Not once. He's saved my ass more times than I can count. Justin walks out in full on cowboy get up. I take a deep breath. I'll definitely relive memories tonight. We get off the bus and go inside. "You must be the notorious three." How'd he know about us?! "You're table's ready. Right this way." "Did you guys call ahead of time?" They both shake their heads no. I'm nervous. What if the cops are waiting for us? She leads us to a table and my whole body freezes. "Told ya you won't regret it, Jason." Tears come to my eyes. "G-Girls?" I whisper. They both look up. Keely is thirteen now and Kendyl is ten. I don't know if Kendyl remembers me or not. "Daddy?" Keely whispers. I shakily nod and they both run over and hug me. My girls are finally home. My bad boy tough exterior completely breaks down.

The girls are asleep on the bus. I can't stop watching them. They're just as beautiful and perfect as the day I lost them. Miranda puts a hand on my shoulder. "Baby you're one in a million." I gasp, hugging her tight. "I can never thank you enough for bringing my baby girls home." "We have to talk about something, Jason." She whispers, glancing at the girls. "Good or bad?" She grabs my hand and we sit down on the couch. "I found the girls in a girls home in Georgia." My eyes go wide. "B-But why? Where's Jessica?" "She's dead, Jason." I lean back on the couch shocked. Jessica is dead. "How did it happen?" "Suicide. They didn't know what to do so they put the girls in the home. But Jason they were taken good care of." My hands are shaking. "Thanks for getting them out of there. Bringing them home." I say, shakily. I pull my necklace out of my shirt. The necklace with our wedding rings. I pull it off. She's not coming back and personally I don't care anymore. I open the window and throw them out. "You're my one and only, baby girl." I say, kissing her and wrapping my arms around her.

Miranda's pov

I'm afraid of telling him this. I don't know if he'll be mad. I sit up and he opens his eyes. "What I said earlier isn't all I wanted to tell you." He sits up. "What is it darlin'?" "I don't want you to be mad at me." His eyes go wide. "Baby girl, nothing will ever make me mad at you. You got me my life back. My girls. They're my world. I promise I won't be mad." Tears push at my eyes. He rests a hand on my cheek. "What is it?" "I... I was hired to catch you boys and turn you in. It wasn't a coincidence that it was my house." I whisper, tearing up fully. His hand falls to the bed. "W-What?" "But Jason, I can't do that. The day behind your bus is the day my life changed forever. I was hired to bring you in but I fell in love with the cowboy of the group." I shakily say. He pulls me into a hug. "You're not mad?" "No." He smiles and cups my face in his hands. "Because I love you too." Then he kisses me.
