Miranda's pov
We were hanging out by his truck while the other guys played onstage. "You're a bad boy, Jason Aldean." I whisper, readily, his hands beside my head against his truck and a smirk on his face. "You want a bad boy? Well baby you got it." He says. I wrap my arms around his neck as he kisses me. "Oh cowboy how have the cops not caught you yet?" "I'm sneaky." He whispers, his breath on my neck. "You're sneaky? Makes sense, Mr. Hide in a broom closet." He laughs and grabs my hand. "I'll show you just how sneaky this ol rugged cowboy can be." We go behind his bus where we make out and make love.
*later*
"Goodnight San Francisco!" He shouts, setting the mic on it's stand. He walks offstage. He and Brantley were talking for a second then he walks over to me. "Ready to go?" I ask. He smiles and nods. We go back to his truck and get in. "You're a real rocker on stage." I say, laying a head on his shoulder. He wraps an arm around my waist. "Baby you're rollin' with me now. Your life is about to get a lot more wild." I smile. "Wild is my middle name!" I gasp, dramatically. He smirks and pulls out a jar of shine. "You've tried shine right?" I laugh. "I make it dummy." His eyes go wide. "So you are a still runner! Why didn't you tell me?" "You never asked." I say. He laughs. "Touché." We get a hotel for the night.
Jason's pov
I drop Miranda off at the hotel then me and the boys hang out on tailgates with jars of moonshine. "You got yourself a Bonny to your Clyde?" B jokes. I laugh and nod. "Normal people break in they'd get a bullet to the head. But a badass cowboy gets laid instead." All three of us laugh. "What are we gonna do when we go home? The cops'll be on our tails." Justin says. Such a scaredy cat. I can tell it's annoying B. "Dude, we're fine. You worry too much." I say. "I just don't think he's cut out for the bad boy lifestyle." B says. I roll my eyes. "Come on B, that's a little harsh, don't ya think." "Maybe you aren't either Jason. Taking up for a kid like Justin." My eyes go wide. "What do you mean by that, Brantley?" He laughs. "Look I don't run with goody two shoes babies. I need a strong ain't afraid to fight team! Now can I trust y'all not to flip out?" "Of course you can, man." I say, annoyed. I think the shine has gone to his head. I get off the tailgate. "I've got a Bonny to get back to boys so I'm turnin' in early." They laugh and I go back to the hotel room. She's already asleep. I lay beside her and wrap an arm around her waist.
*the next day*
I wake up with her head against my chest. I smile and sit up, thus waking her up. "We gotta get back on the road, princess." "I was lying about being a moonshiner. My dad did it though." Hm so she's not technically my Bonny. Yet. I can get her into it when we get back home. "That's fine darlin'." I kiss her head and we get on the bus. My thoughts drifting to the girls I lost.
Miranda's pov
He looks like he's thinking hard. "Jay you okay?" I whisper. "Huh? What?" I ask if he's okay again. Brantley gives him an odd look. "Yeah. Just thinkin'." He says with a sad sigh. "What's wrong?" "I have a feelin'." Brantley says. Jason sighs. "I don't wanna talk about it." He says, closing his eyes. "Jes thinking about his daughters. It's not good for him if you ask me." He opens his eyes again, looking furious. "Brantley you've never had kids. You don't know what it's like to lose them. I loved those little girls." B sighs. "You're gonna have to let go, man. They aren't coming back." He sighs and glares out the window. "Stop the bus." He says, standing up. I'm confused. When the bus halts, he walks off the bus and I'm about to follow but B stops me. "You should leave him alone." "B, what happened?"
Jason's pov
I love Brantley like a brother but there's one intolerable thing I can't get passed. His insensitivity. He can't tell me to let go of my daughters. I will always miss them and wonder what happened to them. I pull out my mason jar and drink a whole jar of shine. I need some time alone.
