I immediately got a reply.

Zayn-Normally I would gladly send you my address, but I don't think coming over is a great idea right now.

What the hell? Not even Zayn wanted me? What was going on? My phone buzzed again and my insides fluttered Maybe Zayn changed his mind.

Perrie-hey, you free? Girls' night at my house! (:

Me-yeah, send me your address!

Good thing i'd already packed an overnight bag for Michelle's. Thank god I was seeing somebody tonight-somebody who wouldn't yell at me.

--

"LEILA OH MY GOD!" Jesy shrieked as she looked in the mirror.

"I love it!!" I curled her hair and it did look pretty good, if I were to say so myself.

We were at Perrie's sprawling mansion. Her parents were gone, leaving an unlocked liquor cabinet and the whole house to ourselves. Nevertheless, we were cooped up in Perrie's room, which was as big as a house itself.

"I dunno, Jess." Perrie took a swig of cherry ciroc.

"It's not easy to act like I don't care that Zayn openly flirts with other girls. I get insecure as well." She stroked the fishtail braid I gave her and I felt my body start heating up.

"Maybe he's just a really touchy-feely kinda guy." Jesy took a cautious sip of coconut rum, she was still recovering from the previous night. Perrie fell back on her bed and sighed.

"Am I not pretty enough for him?" She whispered. Me and Jesy groaned.

"Shut UP, you're gorgeous!" I replied.

"I'm just glad you guys wouldn't fall for Zayn's tricks, like I can tust you two. I can't really trust anyone else." Perrie said. I felt a pang of guilt and took a long swig of hard lemonade.

"No light, no light in his dark brown eyes..." Jesy began.

"Never even losing light could be so violent." Perrie continued.

"A revelation in the light of day, you can't choose what stays and what fades away." I finished, mulling over the lyrics.

Jesy and Perrie looked at me, eyes wide.

"What?" I said, self conscious.

"You're such a good singer!" Perrie gushed

"Amazin'" Jesy added.

I shrugged and smiled.

"I was in choir up until sophomore year. I love singing."

"Where have you been all our lives?!" Perrie shrieked.

"I love that song so much. Like Breath of Life? Goodness." I gushed.

"Yes!" Jesy added

And so we spent the rest of the night singing Florence + The Machine songs until Jesy passed out at around 2 a.m. and Perrie and I put whipped cream on her face. It was two thirty when I finally dozed off, only to be woken up by my cheek vibrating. I groggily checked my phone.

Harry-don't believe anything he says.

Zayn-don't believe anything he says.

Harry-I need you.

Zayn-come over.

Harry-please call me.

I sat up straight. My heart told me to go to Harry, but my head told me to go to Zayn. I wrote a note apologizing to the girls for my absence. I put pills and a glass of water on the bedside for Jesy and packed up my stuff. In the kitchen, i made a quick breakfast for the girls while I debated who to go to. Then I sighed and crept out of the house in the dark.

--

He materialized out of his house slowly, then all at once. It was dark, but I could picture his formfitting black tee and matching skinny jeans. As he entered my car I smelled the familiar scent of Drakkar Noir, taking me back to freshman year. He got in the passenger side and said nothing. I turned off my car and turned on the overhead light. He had a busted lip and his knuckles were bloody. He turned off the light.

"Why did you fight him?"

"He's not the saint you think he is."

"I'm not going to ask you again."

"He told me he'd fuck you and then never talk to you again so I punched him." He was quiet and furious.

I felt my insides falling. Zayn was rapidly becoming a lie. Everything about him. And I thought I could trust him.

"I'm sorry." I whispered.

"Just stay here with me." He mumbled.

"No drugs, no alcohol, just you and me."

I was quiet.

"L..."

"Kiss me with everything you feel."

Had to cut this one short, bc the next chapter is...(; XO
