Chapter Thirteen:
~•They were friends again, despite Gina's better judgement. She wasn't complaining though, she missed him but wouldn't admit it. He'd come by her office almost everyday, claiming to catch up on the progress of his suit, but ends up sitting around her office watching her work. Even though the wedding was a couple of weeks away now, Gina was still feeling hesitant. She wasn't ready to let him go. "Three o clock! Works over! Time for drinks!" He hopped up from his seat in the corner "I can't today Key. I have to finish Skyler's dress and I have an order that needs to be shipped out tomorrow." She kept her eyes on her papers and Key put his hands in his pockets "Then what am I suppose to do?" She looked up "Go home. To your fiancé. That you'll be marrying in a few weeks." Key let out a sigh "I don't want to..." Why?? What keeping him from going home? He's acting weird for someone about to tie the knot. "Well then I'm out of suggestions for you..." She rose to her feet and Key looked at her as she walked past him to the storage. Gina put away her books and catalogs as Key once again made his way to her "So you're just gonna stay here all night by yourself?" "That's what I've been doing..." She continued to clean up and glanced at him, but he was gone. She made her way to the window as she saw him grab his jacket and head down the hall toward the exit. She felt a little pain in her chest actually watching him leave her by herself. But it's what she wanted. It was best that he'd go home.
~•Time seemed to rush past m as she as she sat in the floor with papers scattered around her. Her goal was to clean up a bit and get back to work, but when she found things out of place she had to fix them. She spent hours reorganizing folders and before she knew it it was going on midnight. "Ahh~my back is killing me...." She stretched with her arms in the air with a moan. Key hadn't come back, to be honest she was kinda hoping he would, but she figured he'd finally understood. She let out a sign as she let her arms fall and listened to the sound of cars going by in the silence. "Still sitting in here by yourself?" She jumped and turned her head to see Key with a large bag in one hand and a drink in the other as he sipped on his straw. Gina stared at him as she tried to hide the slight happiness on her face "What are you doing back here?" He lifted the bag in his hand "I would have gotten back sooner but I had to take care of something, but I brought food." "Why?" She slowly stood up holding her sore back. "Because it's late and you need your breakfast. I know you get bitchy without it." He walked up to the nearby table and set the bag down before pulling out it's contents. "I got your favorite~" he teased holding the wrapped sandwich in the air. Gina folded her arms "Seriously? Haven't you learn anything??" He looked at her "What?? I got you hash browns and everything! Why are you being so mean?!" "I'm not!" "Yes you are! You haven't eaten yet so you're being bitchy! Come eat!" She groaned and walked over to the table taking her food and going back to her spot on the floor. There was silence as they are as Key joined her on the floor. "Where you organizing all of this? You should have called me I would have come to–" "Kibum..." He froze, the way she just said his name gave him chills. He slowly turned his head to face her as she looked down "Tell me the truth...." His body stiffened "Why do you spend so much time with me when you're about to get married?" He was silent, he knew she would ask one day. Should tell her? No...if I tell her then I'd have to tell her everything. But, I want her to know. "Um...I–" "Do you want me to suffer? Is that it?" She with more pain in her voice. He flinched "Suffer?? What are you–" "I'm sure you know that I don't want you to get married right? That I hate that you asked her in the first place??" Key suddenly became speechless as he stared at her and Gina felt her heart beat race. Damn it! What am I saying?! She looked away and Key leaned toward her. She felt something soft hit her cheek, her eyes widened as he pulled away and turned her head. "I know..." She stared at him with sad eyes as he looked down at her lips before pulling her chin. They're lips meet and Gina shivered, Key deepened the kiss with open eyes that stared deep into her wide ones. They filled her body with warmth as did his kiss. Noticing the daze in her eyes Key closed his eyes and pulled away slowly. They stared at each other for a few seconds before he returned to his food, leaving a flustered and confused Gina. After biting on his straw a few time a soft blush came to his face "That's for kissing me then leaving me alone for over a year."
