I lay on my back on the bed in the luxurious hotel room, still giddy from soaring up in the clouds. I was at The Colt Hotel, a hotel owned (currently) by a faerie named Clarisse. Clarisse Colt. It was popular with faeries who wanted to get away from the city while still staying in the safe confines of the city walls, and for travelers coming in and out of the city who need a rest. In the end, it had grown quite popular and quite large due to it's popularity, making it more popular. It was quite a good cycle for the hotel.
My parents had booked two rooms. One for me and Lina to share, and one adjoining for Lucas. They were some of the best that The Colt Hotel had. There were also a few other perks that my parents had seemed to get. We were informed that promptly, as soon as we landed. To put it simply, we got a lot of priority for many things.
It seems that the first part of Lucas's plans weren't planned by him at all, but rather by my parents. But even though they had this planned, it was still amazing how fast they managed to get everything into place. They must have sent a messenger while I was getting ready to go. The messenger would have had plenty of time to put everything in place, as it took a long time for us to get ready and we also took our sweet time flying over here.
Suddenly, the door to my room bangs open loudly, breaking my train of thought.
"Rowena!" A very wet Carolina jumps onto my bed. "Come on!" She shrieks into my ear, extremely excited. "You're missing all the fun." She starts to jump up and down, shaking water droplets from her hair onto me. "There is so much fun stuff to do out there, and you're just lying on a bed in a room. Come on!"
I sigh and roll out of the bed. "Do I have to?" I ask, already knowing her answer.
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" She laughs. "Now wear your bathing suit and let's go party!"
I take off my necklace and start peering into all the EC that are strung on it, trying to find a swimsuit of some kind. Lina rolls her eyes and starts from the other end of the Necklace, looking through them.
"I forgot how annoying EC are." She laments. "This could take ages."
Finally we manage to find a swimsuit, and I change. After that, I take off all my EC jewelry and stuff it into a little pouch on my EC-belt. While I'm doing this, Lina starts to bounce, with every bounce taking her closer to the doorway, impatience rolling off her in waves.
"All right, all right" I laugh. "I'm coming."
We take off, running down the stairs and top speed, the provided hotel towels wrapped around us. I follow as Lina runs out the back o the hotel, and into the pool area which is blasting music. Louder than the music are screams of delight and laughter that seem to be echoing from every corner of the pool deck and from the pool itself.
. . . . . . . . . .
After a little while, it becomes contagious and I start to run around, going down slides and chasing after Lina. I start playing around as if I were a fledgling again.
Just as I stop to catch my breath, someones voice calls out from behind me. "I didn't peg you for the party goer, Princess."
I whirl around to see Lucas standing there, in his swimming shorts. But that wasn't the thing that surprised me. What surprised me was that we was full-out grinning. The last time I had seen him grin, was before he had gone off to train as a guard.
That fleeting year after he had gotten over the grief of his parents dying, and he, Lina, and I had all played together. Before a series of events lead him to go and train as a guard. Ever since he returned, he never showed any extreme emotion. Yes, for a while after he returned from training, his face was emotionless. But then he had started to smile and express frustration. He never did get mad. I don't believe that he is capable of actually feeling that emotion. He never did in the past, even before he went away for training.
But enough of that. Dwelling on that sad past isn't something you do at a party. Instead I grin back and jump at him with enough force to make him slightly loose his balance. Unfortunately for him, and lucky for me, he was standing right at the edge of the pool. So when I lunge at him and cause him to loose him balance, he is unable to regain his footing at the edge of the pool, and he and I tumble into the pool.
At that moment, Lina comes running, full speed. "Hey, you guys having fun without me?"
She then leaps in too, just as Lucas and I are falling into the pool. We all shriek as we fall. Okay, maybe Lucas doesn't, but Lina and I certainly do. We then play around for the rest of the evening, just as we used to, back before Lucas went away, even though it may be immature and silly.
That's it. That's all we did that evening. Had fun and acted like young fledglings. It was a great way to start our adventure.

Okay, not much happened in this chapter. But it was still kind of fun to write this chapter! I hope you enjoyed it, even though not much happened. It isn't even a thousand words . . . but still close (900).
I'm sorry I posted late, but I was really sick this past week and just remembered to post. Also, I have exams so it's been really busy!
Above is the photo of Rowena, but the hair looks a little dark.
