“What happened then?” Ushi asked Brya.

“Nothing he just said I need to take Advil. I’m about to go to another doctor, he didn’t know shit about shit.” Brya answered telling only half of what happened in short.

“What the hell is wrong with doctors today! That’s why I am glad they told them to not give out Ibuprofen so much. They have stopped curing people they just want to numb you down.” Ushi said to her sister as they both set up the table.

“I know. I know.” Brya said and set the salad bowl on the table. Tonight Brya has come over to her big sister’s house for dinner.  

“Hey I wanted to tell you something.” Ushi stopped Brya from walking.

“What”

“Lately Theresa has been into a guy from her college.” Ushi said in a hushed tone. “I don’t want to get in her business but I don’t want to just let her do what she wants either.”

Brya laughed and melted at the fast growth of her sister’s daughter. It seems just like yesterday that she was a baby in her arms. “Aw my sister is worried her daughter is growing up.” Ushi lightly smacked Brya on her arm to stop her cheering noises. She didn’t want Theresa to find out they were having this conversation.

“Ow, shut up. This is serious. I want you to find out who he is without letting them know I told you to.” 

Brya smirked with a goofy intention, “You want me to spy on her?”

Ushi hit Brya’s arm harder this time, “Are you going to do it or not, I need to find out very soon.”

Brya rolled her eyes, “Oh my God Ush! She is 19 about to be 20 years old. She knows how to handle herself. Stop the foolishness.”

“Brya, this is my daughter. What if I told you it’s okay for your daughter to get fucked in front of your eyes?” Ushi said with temper.

Brya froze in her spot. “Damn okay I will find out. But you can’t go off at the guy. She might like him a lot. Ushi look at me, promise to not do anything stupid!”

Theresa’s giggle came from her room. Her door must be open, both sisters became quiet to listen.

She was talking to someone on the phone. They looked at each other knowingly.  

Brya started cheering, “Oh my niece I getting it.”

Ushi panicked, “Can you be the slightest bit of adult and realize this is not a good thing. Can you take responsibility please?”

Brya’s smile wore off of her face, “Gosh it has to be hell to be your daughter Ms. Uptight.”

“Welcome to my world” Theresa said. She walked into the kitchen to help with setting up the table.

“Shut up little girl. Your mom is my sister, Only I can insult her.” Brya said half serious, half joking.

Ushi gave Brya the look of shut up. “Theresa, honey, you haven’t been hanging out with Brya for a while. We were wondering if school has got you too busy or if something is wrong…”

Theresa put the plates on the table and looked at her mom, then to Brya. Brya’s face lift up to a quick evil smile. She swallowed and tried to think of how to tell them about the recent events; because the two sisters were obviously onto getting her to say what they probably already knew. 

Theresa and Brya are only 3 year apart. Theresa being 20 and Brya being 23. They are friends more than related because of that fact; but Theresa feels as though her mother throws her to Brya by force just because Brya could keep an eye on her. Plus Theresa doesn't agree with the life style her so called "auntie" lives, she doesn't even see how completely carefree and completely uptight could be blood relatedly sisters. 

"You wanna tell us about what your thinking about hun?" Brya broke her trend of thoughts, with a joyful expression on her face. 

'I love when we gang up on this poor kid. It's fun to see her scared.' Brya thought to herself as she walked over to get herself a drink.
