The wedding was amazing and so beautiful. James and Jodie both enjoyed themselves and that's all that matters.
It's now over a week later and we're getting ready for my birthday.
Morning of my 36th birthday.
"Morning mummy." The kids shouted jumping on the bed. I love it when my birthdays are on the weekend it makes the day so much better. It's means that I can spent the day with the kids.
They'd brought me breakfast in bed. Connor was following behind them.
"Hey guys." I said smiling
"We brought you breakfast." They said
"Thanks." I said smiling
We all got back in bed and I put the TV on.
We stayed there until there was a knock at the door.
"It's okay. I'll go." I said getting out of bed.
I went down stairs.
Jodie and James were there.
"Hey guys." I said smiling
"Happy birthday." They both said
"Did we wake you?" James said
"No all of us were in bed watching TV." I said letting them in
"We wanted to show you something." James said
"What?" I said
"This." James said handing me letter.
"What's this." I said
"Open it." Jodie said
I opened the letter read it though the screamed. Which caused Connor to fly down the stairs.
"Get away from her. oh hi guys." Con said he was waving a coat hanger around
I looked at James and Jodie and we all started to laugh.
"Why did you scream?" I asked
I looked at Jodie and James and they nodded.
I gave the letter to Connor for him to read.
The others just sort of appeared during the day. Michael, Charlotte and Jacob came and picked Grace and Jessie up and took them out. James and Jodie left with Ben and Lilly taking them out. Ash, Luke and Calum took Casper out for the day so by 11 o'clock it was just me and Con.
"What do you want to do today?" con asked
"I don't mind." I said
"Shall we go down to the beach and have a walk?" Con said
"Yeah that sounds lovely." I said smiling
"Cool." Con said
We got ready and headed down to Lyme Regis beach.
It had been 10 years since I had last been to Lyme.
it was really quiet which I hadn't been expecting.
Me and Con enjoyed a hand in hand walk along the beach.
"When ever I think about the beach I think about lying on Bournemouth beach just after we met." I said smiling and we sat down
"Hahaha yeah same here. Things were so much simpler back then." Con said
"Yeah but look at what we have now." I said leaning on Connor shoulder.
"Yeah this is true." Con said
"Wouldn't change the last 16 years for anything." I smiled
"I don't know. I had a thought the other day about Oscar." Con said
"What about him babe?" I said looking at him
"Well what if he had still been here. He'd be what? 14 now." Con said
"Yeah woah. That seems unreal." I said
"Yeah it does. But think would we have Lilly or Casper if we hadn't lost Oscar." Con said
"I couldn't tell you babe." I said
"I don't know either." Con said
"I might write a book you know." I said
"About?" Con said
"Oscar and what it was like losing a child." I said
"I think that would be a great idea babe." Con said and he kissed my head.
It was a beautiful day but we had to go home at some point but before we went home I thought a trip into Lyme town centre was needed.
"That's beautiful." I said we were in one of my favourite shop that sold clothes and I'd picked up a dress for grace. It was purple with light blue butterflies all over it. It had a head band to match.
"That's beautiful babe." Con said smiling
"Might get Lilly and grace a new dress each and go up to the cool dinosaur shop and get something for the boys from there." I said
"Thats a good idea. But what about these for Jessie?" Con said holding up a dinosaur t shirt and trouser set.
"Oh I like them." I said smiling
"Don't get Lilly pink she's not really a girly girl is she. She likes dresses but I don't think pink is a good idea." Con said
"Yeah your right." I smiled
"She likes blue what about this." Con said 30 seconds later holding up a dark blue spotted dress up.
"Yeah that's lovely." I smiled
"Yeah." Con said
We left the shop 10 minutes later heading up to the cool dinosaur shop. We picked Ben up a build your own dinosaur. We didn't like anything in the shop for Casper so we went over to the cool toy shop. We brought some bit for the play kitchen and brought Casper a build your own castle that was going to need the help from Connor or James or Ash or Luke, basically all the men in his life. I wouldn't have a clue what to do.
"Oh." I said
"Rhi?" Con said looking round for me.
"Babe?" He said I'd walked into the fudge shop.
"Honestly." He said smiling
"Hey best fudge on the planet." I smiled
I brought enough so that everyone could have some.
"Your still a child at heart." Con said as we left the shop
"Would you have me any other way?" I said
"No I don't think I would." Con said
"Good. Stop moaning then." I smiled
"Come on let's get home." Con said
"Good idea." I smiled
We got home and no one was there.
"I guess they must be still out." I said putting the bags of shopping on the floor. we'd stopped at the big Asda just outside Exeter and had picked up some food shopping for tonight everyone was coming round for a bit of a party.
"Thats okay it gives us chance to be alone." Con said
"Shower?" I smiled
"2 minutes?" He said and he sprinted up the stairs. I smiled and followed after him.
