The High Life, 6 Years later

Chapter 52

What a tour. Best one yet. But that was it, the end for the vamps and not that any of the fan knew it yet but next years 5sos tour would be the last. It's weird to think that's it's all coming to an end after so long. The vamps boys had all said that they wanted to carry on doing music well into their 90s but no more touring. They were joining forces with the 5sos boys and together working under the label the 5sos boys started 'hi or hey records.' Now all the boys including Connor wanted to to move to London now I was all up for this. But it meant having to hand my notice in at work. Which I had done when we were in Belfast near the start of October.

I had a private school in London to go to as head of drama and Lilly had a place there. The boys had a school to go to as well. Jodie and Sid were making the move as well so Ben also had a place at the school I was going to teach at. Charlotte and the 5sos boys were moving to London as well.

Because I was leaving instead of going back to the school I was now going back after October half term and not after Christmas. Me and Connor didn't see the point in starting the kids back at school if we were moving after Christmas so Connor and the other vamps boys helped with the education each teaching Lilly and Ben high school stuff and Casper, Jessie and Jacob primary school stuff. It was very funny to watch. They would teach them from 9-3 every day to make everyone life easier. Connor and James would teach Lilly and Ben morning and Casper, Jessie and Jacob in the afternoon and Brad and Trist would teach Jessie, Casper and Jacob in the morning and Ben and Lilly in the afternoon.

Because Jodie, Sid and Charlotte, were moving as well, Jodie passed her job as manager of her nursery onto a girl called Alice who had been there just as long as Jodie and Jodie was taking over a nursery in London that was believed to be where Dougie Poynter's little girl went which was exciting, grace would also go to this nursery. Sid was leaving his work and transferring to a branch in London and Charlotte much to her delight would be working with the boys under their record label as stage crew for when the bands the boys had signed to their label went on tour Charlotte would go with them and be stage crew manager. Which really excited Charlotte.

Connor finally gave in and agreed to sell his flat in London but not until we had moved into our house. Which was stupid because within a week of getting the keys to the new house we could move into the new house but Connors excuse was to make sure that it  was ready for us to live in. He didn't want any boxes or anything hanging around that could injure the new addition to the family. After a long court battle me and Connor had won full custody and adoption of the baby Liz had been looking after who we had named Blake and would be coming to live with us in London which meant a whole load of paper work for me and Connor, Blake, Grace and Jessie and for Jodie and James for Ben. Something about them needing be transferred over to London social registry but it had to be done for Jessie and Grace and Ben even though they had been adopted for over 2 year well grace and Jessie had. For Ben it was coming up to a year. But once all the paper work had been done then would could finally moved.

By Christmas 2033 everyone had moved to London it was just me, Connor and the kids still in Exeter which didn't bother me that much. It was nice to have a quiet Christmas just the 7 of us. The kids enjoyed it not that there was much to enjoy as most of he house had been packed up ready to move 2 weeks after Christmas. But it was a lot of fun anyway. Connor and the kids were moving 2 weeks after Christmas but I was staying behind because I didn't finish work till February half term so I would have 6 weeks in the house on my own.

2034.

The move came round really fast and before I knew everything was packed up in 2 moving vans and Connor was putting the kids in the car ready to leave.

"See you at half term." I said giving Connor a kiss

"Love you." Con said

"Bye kids see you at half term." I said waving at the kids.

"Bye mum." Lilly, Jessie and Casper said Grace was asleep

"Lilly there's a bottle in Blake's bag will you give it to him please." Con said going round to the drivers door.

"Yeah." Lilly said she picked up Blake's changing bag and getting the bottle from it.

Connor got in the car. I was stood at the door watching and I watched as Con put his seat belt on and drove away. I stood at the door until I could no longer see them then walked back into the house. an empty shell of a house. Everything had gone it was weird seeing the house so empty most of my clothes had gone as well. only the things I would need for work were still in my wardrobe. Connor bless him had left the double bed behind but the bunk beds had gone so Con was going to sleep in one of them until I got there in 6 weeks.

I walked into the living room and opened my laptop and started to plan the lessons but gave up my replacement would only change what I had planned for the kids anyway so I thought for my last 6 weeks I would have some fun with the kids. I planned some really fun and interesting games for children.

I enjoyed my last 6 weeks. Messing around with the kids and having a good time. Sadly i had missed James's leaving do but for mine he came back. It was great to see him

"Bacon sandwich." I said when he handed me a paper bag.

"What else." James said smiling

It was near the end of the day and i didn't have a last lesson so me and James sat in the middle of my class room and ate our bacon sandwiches

"When do you go?" James asked

"Monday." I said

"Really." James said

"Yeah." I said

"Looking forward to it?" James asked

"Yeah I think so." I said

"You think so?" James said

"Yeah. im looking forward to a new start but i don't want to leave everything behind." I said

"New start though that's great." James said

"Yeah." I said smiling

End of my last day and all the staff had signed a card for me and brought me some flowers.

I got home and packed everything else up.

Monday came and with it brought, Connor, Ash, James and Luke had all come up to help move the last few bits.

"Hey babe." Con said kissing me

"Hello." I said smiling

"Hey Rhi." Ash said

"Hey." I said smiling

We packed everything into the van.

The boys were waiting in the van for me. I carried my laptop and my bag out the door. it was a bit weird leaving the house after 7 years of living there watching 4 children grow up there. Laptop and bag in hand I looked back at the house ready to lock the door. The house had been sold which was how we had been able to buy a new house in London.

i heard the Van door open and Connor appeared behind me.

"You okay babe?" He said in my ear wrapping his arms around me.

"Yeah i'm okay." I said smiling

"Sure." Con said

"Yeah just feels a bit weird." I said

"What does?" Con said

"Leaving this house." I said

"It's a new start for us babe." Con said

"Yeah i know." I said Con took my laptop and bag from me and headed back to the van. As I too walked away from the house and to the van i turned back to look at the house I'd watched my children grow up in and I was reminded of all the time spent in that house and i smiled............
