The High Life, 6 Years later

Chapter 42

I don't think I have ever been so glad to get home in all my life. I walked through the door and I was shocked.

"You painted?" I said

"Yeah.....Do you like it?" Con said

"I do." I smiled

"The kids helped." Con said smiling

"I love it." I said kissing Connor.

It wasn't just the living room that had been painted. The whole down stairs had been done. Instead of it being all different colours it was now a beautiful shade of light purple. Pictures had been put around all down stairs in the Hall and in the living room and the picture the Connor had sent me of all the kids was above the fire place in the living room.

"Glad you like it." Con said

It wasn't just the colour of the walls that had changed. Con had gone shopping brought a new sofa, new desk for the living room, more selves for books, a new TV, Malik and Cat had new vivarium's and to my surprise there was another vivarium.

"What's that for?" I asked pointing the spare vivarium

"Ahhh." Lilly said

"come have a look mum." Casper said

I walked over to the new vivarium and in side was the smallest thing I have ever seen.

"You brought a tortoise." I said

"It was my birthday present from dad." Lilly said

"does it have a name?" I asked

"Squirt. you know its the little turtle in finding nemo." Lilly said

"Yeah I know. love finding nemo." I said smiling

"Same." Lilly said

"What else have you done?" I asked

By the look of it they had completely re done the house and given it a new lease of life.

All the children's rooms had been done.

"come have a look mum." Lilly said and her and Casper dragged me up stairs.

Lilly, Casper and Jessie all now had built in bed with storage space underneath, Lilly had 2 massive book case that were fixed to the wall to stop them falling but were also full of books about everything. Lilly had inherited my collection of Doctor who books that I collected over the years, they were now in order on her book shelf. Her room was blue because it was her favourite colour. She also had laptop that con had brought for her for passing her SATS exams and because she was going up to high school in September she had decided that she wanted to go to my school.

"It looks amazing." I said smiling

"Yeah." Lilly said grinning.

"And it's tidy." I smiled

"Yeah dad said we had to keep our rooms tidy until you got back to see weather we'd earned getting a dog." Lilly

"You all really want a dog that much?" I said

They all nodded.

"Okay, we can have a dog on on condition." I said

"What?"

"We get it after the tour for Christmas." I said

"Okay." They kids said

"And I get to decide what we have as well." I said

"Okay." They said

"Good."

I had a look at the rest of the rooms. In the spare room there were now two single beds.
