We were just sitting watching the sunset go down when my phone buzzed. I looked at seeing a text from Shawn. I only received a text from my mom saying she was sorry and if we were okay. None from my dad. Sometimes it feels like he doesn't care. I decided to take my mind off this for a little while.

I sent shivering as I only had a hoodie.
I made sure Olivia and Isaac were wrapped up so they didn't get cold we were sitting under the sheltered so the wind wouldn't make it too cold. I wasn't planning on sleeping here I don't really know what I'm going to do. I'm dreading going back him and don't know how my dads going to react.

It's been ten minutes and Shawn hasn't texted me back yet and I was in the middle of a convo on the group chat.

I was just about to type a reply when Olivia came up to me and whispered.
"There's a man on the roof"
I furrowed my eyebrows at her and saw a figure standing in the distance.
It was dark and I couldn't see the persons face. What If he's going to eat
me? What If he's a vampire?Gosh I really need to stop watching the vampire diaries.
I slowly stood up and yelled
"Who are you?"
The figure become closer and closer until I could see the persons face.
"Shawn? You scared the fuck out of me"
I said while playfully hitting his chest he just laughed at me.
"Who is he?"
Isaac said as Shawn and I both sat down next to them.
"This is my friend Shawn."
I said pointing to Shawn.
"Olivia this is Shawn. Shawn this is Olivia may but we usually just call her Olivia"
Olivia gave a small smile.
"I'm going to call you may"
He said and Olivia smiled widely.
"Shawn this is Isaac. Isaac this is Shawn"
Shawn raised an eyebrow.
"What should I call you?"
He said pretending to stroke his imaginary beard.
I laughed at him.
"Super Isaac!!"
He yelled which made us all laugh.
"okay super Isaac and how about princess may?"
He said smiling at me.
"Yessss"
The both yelled. I laughed at how much they already started to like Shawn.

Shawn has finally got them to sleep the both feel asleep wrapped in thick blankets. They were under the shelter while I was sitting by the edge of the building dangling my feet. It was really cute how well shawn connected with them. Boys with kids are my weakness.
I was just staring into the sunset as now it's starting to become summer ish it went dark later.
When Shawn came and sat next to me, he wrapped his arm around me and I rested my head into his crook of his shoulder. We were both staring into the city.
"It's beautiful"
I breathed.
"Just like you"
He said while I giggled at him. My cheeks grew red.
"Cheesy"
I said laughing.
I came out of shawns grasp and folded my legs and faced him.
"So why'd you come here?"
I said checking the time seeing it was 9:48pm.
"I wanted to know you were okay!"
He said while I blushed.
"Your cute when you blush"
He said while smirking which made me blush even more. I only rolled my eyes at him.
"So why are you out here with them so late?"
I sighed as I folded my hands into my lap.
Shawn unfolded them and placed them in his which immediately made me smile.
"You don't have to tell me if your not ready"
He said in his calming voice.
I stayed silent for a few seconds and decided to speak up.
"My parents are always yelling at each other constantly. It's been like this every day for a good year. Sometimes I think there's no reason for them to fight. I try and ask them if they are always arguing why don't they get a divorce but I never get an answer."
I said as a tear feel down my cheek once again this night. Shawn squeezed my hands which made me relax.
"I don't remember the last time we have had a good time all four of us."
I say looking at the skyline of New York.
"Olivia and Isaac are afraid of what's going to happen and I have to act like their mother and their father every day. I'm always the one comforting them when they are arguing I'm always there for them. They are so young they don't even understand."
I say as i wipe a tear from my face.
"They only want their mommy and daddy to be happy and that's all I want too."
I sighed.
"It's so hard because I have to act like the strong big sister in front of them but really it's killing me too"
"I just want everything to go back to how it use to be"
"I can't be so strong anymore"
Once I finished talking Shawn used his thumb to wipe away my remaining tears.
"I know it's tough Scarlett. It's horrible I really do know. I'm so sorry this is happening to them and you. It's okay not to be okay. It's okay not to be able to stay strong. It's okay. Your only human after all."
I smiled and I hugged him. It felt so reassuring.
"I can't promise you that they'll be okay but I can promise you I'm always here for you. Im always here when you or the twins need me. It's a rough time but I'll help you get through it."
I smiled at Shawn. I've only know him less than a week and he already found a way to my heart. I pulled away from the hug.
"Thank you"
I say as I wiped more tears that came.
"It's okay. I promise I'm always here"
I smiled at him and he smiled back.
"I'm here for you too Shawn."
I say as I look up at him.
"Best friends"
He said while kissing my cheek.
Once again I began to blush for about the 6th time tonight.
"You look so much prettier without make up by the way"
He said as I leant my head on his shoulder so that he couldn't see the cheesy smile that appeared on my face.
