Chapter 8
Sunpaw walked into the territory flicked her ears, searching for a noise. Pausing her step, she listened.
"Who are you?" A meowed filled her ears and Sunpaw whirled around to see a slightly familiar cat. He seemed to recognize her.
"What are you doing on our territory?"
"I...don't know?" Sunpaw meowed uncertainly. The grey tom stared at her before sighing.
"I guess I'll have to take you to camp then. Follow me." He meowed and Sunpaw followed. Camp? So strange...
Sunpaw let out a meow of shock as they passed through a bush into a large space. So many cats!
One cat stood out with his black fur and white markings. He came up to them slowly, looking curious.
"Who did you find here?" The black tom asked.
"A clan cat who's lost their way."
"What clan?"
"I'm guessing it was FlameClan."
The black tom looked at Sunpaw suspiciously. "Weedpaw, what do you mean by was?"
Weedpaw shifted noticeably. "The scent is old...." He meowed. Sunpaw suddenly remembered something about herself.
"I'm....Sunny....wait! My name is...Sunpaw!" Sunpaw burst out. The black tom purred in laughter.
"Well then, Sunpaw, no longer part of FlameClan? This is FernClan, and I'm Fernstar. Welcome." The black tom, or Fernstar meowed. Sunpaw purred in delight.
"Sunpaw, want to join our clan?" Weedpaw asked quickly. Sunpaw nodded in agreement. Who is FlameClan? But she pushed that thought away.
"Sunpaw...err,..welcome." Weedpaw meowed in a strange voice. But Sunpaw didn't care. Whoever FlameClan was, they didn't need her anymore!
"Sunpaw, this is Treepaw and Forestpaw." Weedpaw meowed, bring Sunpaw out of her thoughts. He nodded towards a brown tom and a pretty tortoiseshell she-cat. "They are apprentices just like us."
The tortoiseshell rolled her eyes and turned to Sunpaw. "Hi, and yes, my name is Forestpaw. Finally another she-cat in the den too! Here, let me show you around camp..." Forestpaw went on but Sunpaw wasn't listening. She had a home again.
