Chapter 14 (Part 2)

Sunflower stared at Cloudfern as she looked back at her. A sudden darkness started to engulf her vision, and Sunflower started to panic, not wanting to leave yet. "Wait! Wait, no!" Sunflower yowled at Cloudfern. Cloudfern held her gaze with Sunflower. As darkness covered over her, Cloudfern's voice rang out.

"The sun will show light to the moon, and EchoClan's hope will rise once again. The flames will try to lap up the sun and take it again, but the moon will be its healer."

Sunflower woke with a start and saw Forestpelt's eyes on her, looking surprised. Sunflower got up, looking at Forestpelt as if nothing had really happened.

"Sunflower, come on," Forestpelt meowed, gesturing to Sunflower to follow her out. Dimly, Sunflower followed her friend out.

"What do we do?" Sunflower asked, swishing her tail nervously. "If StarClan can't handle it then...,"

"Calm down," Forestpelt interrupted. "We can't panic, just have to...go back."

"Go back to fear of being caught by greencough," Sunflower muttered, flicking her tail.

"Lets go," Forestpelt meowed, starting the journey back home. Sunflower followed her friend out, choosing to stay silent until they got back to camp.

"Forestpelt and Sunflower! Did you really go to the moonpool?" Weedwhisker asked, his eyes bright and friendly. Forestpelt and Sunflower shared a look before answering.

"Well, yes, but its not what you think," Forestpelt stammered, not knowing what to say.

"StarClan can't stop it, or maybe just won't," Sunflower meowed darkly. Weedwhisker sighed, his tail held still.

"I'm going to guess it didn't go very well," Weedwhisker meowed in answer, but he brightened. "The gathering is tomorrow! We'll be announced as warriors."

Forestpelt looked over to Sunflower. "That'll be great, won't it?" Forestpelt meowed to Sunflower, trying to cheer her up. "At least we tried," she added.

"I suppose so, anyone up for hunting?" Sunflower asked, her eyes brightening. Forestpelt and Weedwhisker purred, and begin walking out of camp as the two she-cats explained their journey.

Reaching a large oak tree, the three cats stopped and sniffed the air. "Whoever gets the most prey wins!" Weedwhisker announced, jumping over a log and racing away.

"Good luck!" Sunflower called to Forestpelt, before she too ran off farther into the woods. Sunflower weaved around and in branches as she passed through bushes. Lifting her nose to the air, she took in a long sniff, scenting a mouse. Gingerly, she stalked the mouse silently, ready to pounce until a loud bird fluttered out of a tree, scaring the mouse.

Sunflower glanced around as she heard someone coming her way, her tail held still and ready.

A small kit came wandering out, its eyes blinking. Its fur was white as snow, and its gazed up at Sunflower before squeaking. "Who are you?" the kit demanded, holding itself in a ready position. Sunflower purred.

"I'm Sunflower," Sunflower answered. "Who are you?"

"I'm Flora!" the kit meowed proudly. "Do you know the way back to the Upwalkers?" The kit asked, tilting her head.

"The Twolegs?" Sunflower asks gently, looking around for the mother cat. What was this kit doing alone?

"Flora!" A cat tumbled out of the bushes, her white coat stained with a few muddy patches. "Where have you been?" She asked the kit, sniffing her roughly. The she-cat suddenly noticed Sunflower and her fur puffed up, protecting the kit.

"Mama!" Flora cheered, nosing her mothers fur.

"What are you doing near them?" The she-cat asked, fixing a stern stare at Sunflower, who shifted her weight and stepped back a bit. The she-cat picked up the kitten and walked away, but the obvious hate from the mother could only mean she was a kittypet.

"Sunflower!" Forestpelt called, coming up to her holding a mouse. "Catch anything yet?"

Sunflower shook her head, but purred. "Did I lose?"

"We feed the clan by doing this," Weedwhisker reminded, starting off to camp. The two she-cats followed, ready for sleep.

-Just a short added part to it. I think I know where this is going now! I can only hope it'll work out, and I planned it now so I shouldn't be caught by surprise like when I was writing EchoClans Prophecy (Which has an ending I really need to change) but never less this is working. It will no longer be on hold! Yay!- Moonflier
