"What did you want to ask me?" I questioned as I sat down next to Levi. We're not going out tonight, instead, we're just having a meeting.
"Oh! Yeah, I just-"
"Hello group," our leader announced as he stood in front of us.
Levi gave me a shrug and lipped 'I'll tell you after' to me- as if that's not going to give me anxiety for the whole meeting.
"So today I thought we should talk about rules and boundaries, and by that I mean where it is safe and unsafe to tag. Because the other night, a small group from our group got caught on camera tagging."
Everyone gasped as they looked around at each other, including me and Levi.
"Before you get upset, it was only two of you. So if you were in a group of two, please stand up."
My stomach churned as I followed Levi's lead and stood next to him. Everyone from the crowd turned to me and four other groups of pairs. Either people are lying, or we're really screwed and about to get caught.
"Okay, only a few of you. Now stay standing if you used blue or purple paint that night."
Two groups sat down and sighed in relief; leaving me, Levi, and two other groups standing.
"And how many of you were at a park?"
The remaining groups sat down, leaving only me and Levi to stand in front of the crowd that was shooting stares and whispers in our direction.
"Well, we found our culprit. You two, please come forward," the leader demanded.
Levi took my hand and helped guide me through the rows of chairs as people gave us looks of sympathy and I'm-glad-I'm-not-in-your-place-right-now.
We took a step on the platform and stood tall in front of everyone. Levi let go of my hand and tucked his in his jeans, while I intertwined mine together behind my back. Right now, this is the last thing I need.
"Okay, so please answer yes and no truthfully to the following questions," the leader said while pulling out a piece of paper. We nodded and waited for the questions that will determine our fate.
"We're you both at the crime at approximately 11:32 PM?"
"Yes sir," we said together.
"Were there any other people or witnesses of the crime?"
"No sir."
"Were you aware that there were cameras set up, ones that were capturing what you were doing?"
"No sir."
"Did either one of you make a design which was very similar to a demon?"
"Yes sir."
He sighed before handing off the paper and taking another one. His finger scanned down the page as he read, until he reached halfway through.
"Levi and Parker, by ruling and punishments abided in this form, you both claim that you were unaware, alone, past curfew, and in a place that contained evidence of your vandalism. Is this correct?"
We both nodded, afraid to move at all.
"Well, from what the rules and punishments have stated, you cut too close to reveling our group and allowing the general public to realize who we are. Because of this, we are going to need you to turn yourselves in."
"Come on," Levi said, pushing me gently to the side. "It was one mistake. We won't make it again, we promise."
"I'm sorry Levi but it's too dangerous."
"So what do you want us to do about it?" He asked while crossing his arms over his chest.
"We need you to go to the police station and admit you were wrong. That way, nobody finds out about our group."
"So you're just going to kick us out? After all that we've been through? All that I've been through?" He asked, now beginning to yell.
"Please stay quiet or we will get backup. And please leave before we have to ask you again. Go to the police station and tell them, or else we'll come after you," the leader threatened.
Levi whispered something under his breath before he grabbed my wrist and dragged me off the stage and out the door to his car. We got in and he started it up while I buckled my seatbelt.
"I'm sorry I have to do this," he said while fiddling with the keys.
"Do what?"
"Turn us in to the police."
