Miscarriage

"I'm sorry but you've had a miscarriage."

Shawn pulled me into a tight hug and I started crying into his chest.

"I'll give you two some space." The doctor said, getting up from his chair.

He walked out and softly closed the door behind him.

"Shhh..Shhh..Come on lets go home."

Shawn stood up, bringing me with him and opened the door. I quickly wiped my tears and hoped that my face wasn't too red. We walked past the reception and to the car, people looking at us with lingering stares. Shawn opened the door for me then walked over to his side of the car.

The ride home was silent as we were both in denial. Every so often I would look over at Shawn and see tears brimming in his eyes which physically made my heart hurt.

We got to the house and I noticed that Shawn's mom's car was in the driveway. Shawn cursed under his breath as he realised that he would have to tell her about the baby, her first grandchild.

I got out of the car and walked through the front door, Shawn quickly following behind me. He caught up and gently turned me around to face him.

"Why don't you go up to bed and have a rest?" He asks softly and I nodded in response.

"Shawn?" I called quietly after I got about halfway up the stairs

I turned around and noticed that he was still at the end of the stairs "Yeah?" He asked

"Will you come up in a few minutes?"

"Of course."

I turned back around and walked up the rest of the stairs. I changed into some comfy clothes and got into bed.

After about a minute I decided that I needed a drink so I quietly walked down the stairs when I heard Shawn and his mom, Karen, talking.

She asked how the appointment went and Shawn slid down the press and started crying.
Karen was quickly by his side, comforting him.

"What happened?" She asked

"We lost the baby m-mom."

"Oh Shawn. I'm so sorry. Everything will be okay." Karen said, taking his hand in hers

"How is everything going to be okay if my baby just died?!" He asked, slightly raising his voice

His mom shushed him as she knew that I was in the house. I walked into the kitchen and saw Shawn's red puffy eyes.

"Shawn." I whimpered

He saw me standing there with tears rolling down my face.

"Fuck. I'm sorry baby." He said standing up

He instantly wiped his tears and walked over to me giving me a hug.

"I'm s-sorry Shawn, this is a-all my fault." I cried into his chest

"No baby this isn't your fault. There's nothing we could've done to prevent this from happening."

He trailed his fingers up and down my back, because he knew it would calm me down.

"Come on, let's go up to bed and rest for a while." He took my hand and led me up to our room.

We got into bed and I snuggled into Shawn's chest.

"I love you Shawn."

He smiled at me then kissed me.

"I love you too."
