Nightmares

(Y/n)'s PoV

You woke up in the middle of the night feeling parched so you got up out of the bed and went down the stairs and into the kitchen to get a glass of water. You filled up the glass, then started to drink it when you heard a scream coming from upstairs.

You dropped the glass and ran up the stairs as quickly as you could and ran straight into your daughters room.

She was thrashing around in her bed, tears streaming down her face, but she wasn't awake.  You sat down beside her and shook her gently, trying to wake her up.

"Lily! Lily wake up."

Her eyes started to flutter open and you leaned over her bed to turn up the brightness on her night light. She jumped a bit from being frightened but quickly jumped into your arms.

"Mommy! There w-was a huge spider a-and it was chasing m-me." She cried.

"It's okay. It was just a bad dream." You soothed, gently rubbing your hand up and down her back.

"Can I sleep in your bed w-with you and daddy?" She asked, wiping her tears away with the back of her hand.

"Okay baby. Let's go." You agreed, getting up to walk into your room with Lily in your arms.

"Can I wake d-daddy up to tell him about the spider?" She sniffled.

"It might be hard to wake him, but you can if you want."

"Yay!" She cheered loudly.

When you placed her down on the bed she started jumping around trying to wake Shawn up. When she realised it wasn't working she jumped on top of Shawn, making him let out a groan. He opened his eyes and smiled, seeing his daughter who was his pride and joy.

"Why are you up in the middle of the night?" He asked, a lazy smile playing on his face.

"I had a bad dream daddy." She spoke, making Shawn sit up straight and wake up fully.

"What happened in your dream?" He asked.

"There was a really really big spider and it hurt you and mommy and then it started c-chasing me." She started crying again.

"Aw baby that won't ever happen it real life. I'll keep you and mommy safe." He gave her a big hug and she relaxed in his arms.

"Mommy said I could sleep in here tonight." She stated, making Shawn smile again.

"That's okay. Are you tired?" He asked and she nodded her head.

"Can I sleep now?" She placed her head on Shawn's chest, lying on top of him.

"Of course you can. Goodnight baby." He gently brushed his fingers through her hair.

"Night, daddy. Love you." She lazily whispered, half asleep already.

"Love you too." He whispered back.

You thought about how Lily said that there was a huge spider in her nightmare and it made you think back to when Shawn used to go on a Harry Potter movie marathon at least once a month. It made you curious and before Shawn fell back asleep you asked him what was on your mind.

"Shawn?"

"Hmm?"

"Have you been watching Harry Potter with Lily?" You whispered, making Shawn look at you with wide eyes and it finally hit him.

"Shit."
