Off To College

Shawn's PoV

"I can't believe you're going off to college already" I whispered, engulfing my only child, Shawna, in a hug.

"I know, I can't believe it either dad." She replied, a look of sadness washing over her features.

"We're going to miss you so much." (Y/N), my beautiful wife said, joining the hug.

"I'll miss you guys too." I pulled away from the hug and sighed.

"You better come and visit all the time and not forget about us."

"Don't worry, of course I'll visit." She replied, picking up her bag "But I better get going now."

"Okay. We'll see you soon." I smiled, walking her to the door. "I'll call you later to see if you're settling in well."

"Okay dad. I love you both."

She walked to her new car and put her bag in the boot (trunk) of it then got in the drivers seat. She turned on the engine and started to drive off, waving at us as she went.

I closed the door and walked to the living room, (Y/N) following behind me. We sat on the couch, watching the TV in silence until (Y/N) turned around to face me and spoke up.

"You know what I've been thinking about Shawn?" She asked, seeming enthusiastic.

I turned around to face her so I wouldn't get distracted by the TV, giving her my undivided attention. "What have you been thinking about?"

She paused for a moment, thinking if she should actually tell me before finally deciding to answer. "Well I've been thinking that maybe we could try for another baby?" She questioned nervously

"You want to?" I asked surprised, sitting up straight getting excited about another little one of  me or (Y/n) running around the house.

"Yeah, I mean you're only forty and I'm only thirty-eight. We only have one child and now she's all grown up and gone to college." She smiled sadly, already missing her daughter.

"Well if you want another child I want another child." I replied moving closer to (Y/N) on the couch

"Are you sure Shawn?"

"Of course I'm sure. You know I've always wanted another kid." I smiled reassuringly

A smirk appeared on her face then she took my hand in hers and stood up

"Let's go then."
