First Day Of School

(Y/n)'s PoV

Today was Lily's first day at school and she was extremely excited about it. She woke up extra early today and woke you and Shawn up too, which the both of you were not too happy about.

"Mommy can I have my cereal please?" She asked, fully dressed with her school bag on her back.

You looked over at the clock and saw that it was only half seven. You internally groaned as it was still too early to be awake.

Since you didn't want to keep your daughter waiting you got her a small bowl and poured her favourite cereal, cookie crisp, into it. She pulled the milk out of the fridge and handed it to you with a big smile on her face.

"Here you go mommy. See! I can carry it all by myself because I'm a big girl now." She cheered, giving you a big toothy grin.

"Thank you, kiddo." You took the big jug of milk off of her and poured some into the bowl.

"Will you put it back into the fridge please?" You asked nicely, getting a spoon out of the drawer.

She nodded her head and slipped if off of the counter. She put it on the floor beside the fridge and opened the door. Then she picked it back up and put it back in the shelf on the door of the fridge. You walked over to the table with her cereal and she ran after you, throwing herself up on the seat.

"Thank you mommy." She said happily and you gave her a smile.

"I'll be back in a minute. I'm going to make sure daddy didn't fall back asleep." You said making her giggle.

You walked up the stairs and into your room. You saw Shawn still lying on the bed, your pillow over his face and the blanket over most his body, but his chest and one of his legs weren't covered. You heard a light snore coming from him and knew that he had already fallen back asleep.

"Shawn! Wake up!" You shouted, grabbing your pillow from his face and hitting his chest with it. He groaned and took his pillow from underneath him and put it over his face.

"Don't make me get the cold water, Shawn." You warned, walking towards the bathroom.

He quickly sat upright and put his arms up in surrender, his eyes still closed and his face scrunched up.

"Get dressed! You can go back to bed after we drop Lily off at school!"

You walked into the bathroom to brush your teeth. Soon after you felt Shawn come up behind you and lean down to whisper in your ear, his hands gripping firmly on your waist.

"You'll be coming back to bed with me, too." He whispered, his morning voice sounding ever better than ever.

"Don't start this now Shawn! Get dressed!" You whined making him groan behind you.

"Why get dressed when you'll be taking them off of me as soon as we get in the door?" He whispered in your ear again.

"Because you're going to be outside in front of other little children and their parents! So get dressed now Shawn!"

"Okay mum." He groaned jokingly, walking back out of the bathroom.

You walked out of the bathroom and down the stairs when you were finished in the bathroom. You had already put your clothes on before you went downstairs with Lily earlier so you were ready to go whenever Shawn was.

Lily was watching the TV so while she was doing that you brushed her hair and got a damp face cloth and wiped her face. After that she quickly ran to the bathroom and brushed her teeth.

Shawn was dressed and ready to go so we all jumped into the car and headed towards Lily's new school. When we got there Lily excitedly hopped out of the car into Shawn's arms and he carried her to the door of the building which was where she wanted to start walking by herself.

You all walked up the hallway together until you got to Lily's classroom door. You all stopped outside and Lily gave you and Shawn a big hug and a kiss each.

"Bye Mommy. Bye Daddy." She waved, turning to walk into her classroom.

"I don't get one more hug?" Shawn asked, a sad smile on his face.

"Ugh okay Daddy but only for today." She giggled, walking back over to Shawn. He picked her up and twirled her around, holding onto her tightly. He placed a kiss on her forehead and she gave him a kiss on the cheek. She wriggled out of Shawn's tight hold on her and started walking away again, this time not even turning back to look at you both.

"My little babygirl is all grown up." Shawn said sadly, looking in the door at her playing with some other kids.

"She's growing up way too fast." You added, taking Shawn's hand in yours and turning him away from the door, before he decided to walk into the classroom and take her back home.

You both walked out to the jeep and hopped inside, Shawn suddenly pouting at you and you laughed, wondering what he wanted now.

"Can we have another kid?" He asked, making your eyes widen as you were not expecting that. You thought about it for a moment then gave him a smirk.

"We can try when we get home."
