Sun Heir – Prologue

Annabelle was born on June 28th. It was a steaming hot day when no one would go outside, even though it was in the late afternoon. This was the time of day that Ashton’s powers were at her highest, and Jacob’s was at his weakest. This was the time of the Eclipse.

Like a good, quiet baby, Annabelle simply stared into her mother’s dark brown eyes, which were completely different from her emerald green ones. Annabelle was different, and the mother knew.

At the same time, millions of miles away, Jacob was alerted of the birth of Annabelle, and immediately started planning. As this young girl grew up, the good could only get weaker, in preparation for her to rise. Jacob wanted to rise before she did and eventually reclaim what was rightfully his and his now dead daughter, Julie. Jacob wasn’t the best of fathers. He had betrayed everything he had known for the bad, the drug, the thing that hurts the world the most.  Now he was just that, and it was time to change for the better good. Not for the better good of the whole world but only for him and his drunken revenge.

As if sensing this power and greediness, Annabelle started to cry silently, tears of hope and joy. In her young mind, she knew she was destined for greatness, the type of greatness that ends in world peace and eternal happiness.

“Don’t cry, Annabelle.” Her mother said, kissing her daughter’s small head. The father peered over his wife’s shoulder in fake happiness. This was their second child.

Josh was across the room, twelve years old, and mad. Without even realizing, he was shunning the newborn, and getting ready to give up his life on Annabelle’s fifteenth birthday, when she would attend Acrylic boarding school in Hawaii, just like her ancestor Ashton did.

The most important thing was, Ashton was still alive and strong. She was also the Queen of the Sun Lands. They were hidden in the gifted realm, which can only be accessed in ABS. But Ashton was soon to step down and allow Annabelle to take her place, in only four short years.

Annabelle had four years to train and prepare for the battle of her life and her century as queen.

"Josh, come look at your baby sister!" mother said, and he groaned, but still obeyed his mother, coming to stand next to his father.

"Hi Annabelle." he said, "Don't get in my way." and then left, much to his mother's dissapointment. Josh was a bad kid.

"Can you go get him?" mother asked the father, and he obligued, anything to get away from the baby.

Annabelle's eyes trailed after her father's, before returning to her mother's. She gave a small smile, and mother smiled too, forgetting about the two rude men in their family.

"It's just you and me, Annabelle." mother said and kissed Annabelle's head once again, silently chanting to herself that it would be okay, everything would turn out okay.
