Chapter 4: Moon Land

I woke up to sun streaming through the window, and I smiled slightly. Birds and a sunshine were a great way to wake me up, that’s for sure.

I rolled out of bed and over to my computer, checking my email and such. I didn’t have a single email from my mom, although I had sent one to her yesterday after Opal’s party. Speaking of her, I wonder what she’s doing today?

A loud bang on my door jolted me upright, and I quickly pulled on my cream robe. I was only wearing a tank top and short shorts. They kept this place warm.

Opal’s friend, Alicia, stood at my door.

“Opal wants you.” She said quietly, hardly meeting my eyes.

“Why isn’t she here?” I asked her, curious. Alicia simply shrugged and turned around. She was in a short, light pink dress with her hair trailing down her back. I slipped on a pair of flip flops and followed her through the castle, up a few flights of stairs, and into a long, dark hallway. Looking at Alicia, I didn’t believe that she lived in a dark place like this, or was even friends with Opal.

We stopped in front of wide double doors and Alicia knocked quietly.

“Come on in, Alicia!” Opal called out and Alicia opened up the door, revealing Opal. She was laying across the bed, wearing a plain, short, black dress and was surrounded by piles of pillows. She looked like she was living in some kind of luxury.

I sat down on the bed and looked expectantly at Opal.

“What?” she asked rudely, and I rolled my eyes in sync with Alicia.

“Alicia came up and got me for some reason.” I stated. Opal glared at Alicia.

“Yeah, sure.” She said, “I’m supposed to take you shopping today, since you obviously don’t have much at all.” She looked me up and down in disgust, and I snorted.

“You’re wearing less than me.” I countered back, and Alicia snickered.

“Shut up.” She said, before hopping off the bed and almost mooning me. See what I mean? I looked pointedly at Alicia and she shrugged, gesturing for me to follow Opal. She lead us to a huge closet, which was overflowing with clothes. She went tearing through everything, before coming up with a, again, short, light blue dress. It was a halter, with a deep v back and a hole in the middle of the chest. I raised my eyebrows at this.

“What is that? A swim suit?” I asked her.

“No, it’s the dress you’re wearing the go shopping. It’s too light and pretty for me.” She threw it at me and I managed to catch it.

Alicia told me to put it on as Opal grabbed a deep purple dress and began changing. I went into the bathroom and changed, borrowing some of Opal’s makeup quickly so she wouldn’t know.

I walked out and Opal nodded at me.

“Good job. Now let’s get going.”

They lead me back down the hallway and out into the courtyard. As we stepped through the portal, I felt a whoosh of air around me before I opened up my eyes and saw the Moon Lands.

“Welcome to my real home.” Opal said, and lead me towards a club, where music was blaring through the thick walls.

They took me to the middle of the dance floor, urging me to dance so we could have a fun day. I merely shook my head and tried to convince them I can’t, but when a dude walked over and commented on my dress, Opal raised her eyebrows and convinced me to dance a little, before we would begin our shopping trip.

After about an hour and my first drink later, we made our way out of the club and into the bright world.

“Where to?” I asked them, and they nodded towards a skyscraper,

“The mall.” Alicia said, grinning, and I mirrored her expression. This was going to be fun.

A/N:

As usual, not very long. I'll probably be posting chapter 5 either later today or tomorrow, and it will be a fun one. Or, I was thinking of doing every 5 chapters in Ashton's POV? How does that sound?

Please tell me what you think, and remember to vote and comment!

xx Erin

P.S. Alicia on the side(:
