Chapter 11: Weapons
Fire flowed from my fingers, scorching the paper in front of me. I was done with Opal and Alicia. After we got back from the beach they completely threw me to the sharks, insulting me countless times on who I was and “making up for lost time because they needed to be nice so I could catch up”. I hated them with all my heart.
Sir Flagstaff, my fire instructor, had given me the whole classroom whenever I wanted, saying that he could easily repair any damage. So now I could turn myself into a different, angry person. I had bright, flaming read hair and bright red lips to match, making my green eyes brighter and more feral. I needed this time alone with fire.
Music that could only be heard to me blared in my brain. I was angry and done with everything… so I blew. I put every ounce of my anger into my hands, feeling the fire crackle under the surface. I took a deep breath, and released it strongly, putting every ounce of anger and distress I had into those balls of fire.
They landed at the long wall of windows across the room, tearing away the whole wall that Sir Flagstaff’s desk was at and burning everything he has to ashes. Oh my God… I did not mean to do that! I couldn’t face the consequences… so I quickly grabbed my bag and ran from the room, but not before putting out the fire.
Down the stairs I ran into Bailey.
“Hey, girl? What’s the rush?” she asked, glancing around. “Boy trouble?” she whispered.
“Nothing like that… I have to go.” I said absently, continuing down the hallway.
“Ok! Well, meet me for dinner tonight, we’ll do something!” Bailey called out and I rolled my eyes. I may just have to take up he offer though, so Aston doesn’t worry. Since she was the Queen of the Sun Lands, I’m sure that she had eyes everywhere… that means she knew what I did to Sir Flagstaff’s office too!
Now I was at the door to our dorm, and I sighed, opening it to peace and quiet. This was the same room Ashton had stayed in, all those years ago. I turned to the left, to the same bedroom she had, and opened up my bedside table drawer.
Inside was a small black case, and inside was a knife. It was small, but sharp. My mom had given it to me to use as defense, and since I came on a private jet I was able to sneak it through security and stuff. I pulled it carefully out of its package, gazing into the clear stainless steel. The handle was a soft black, and the blade had small jagged edges. I trailed my finger over the blade on every side, tracing the weapon I held in my hand.
This was the answer to all my problems…

I woke up to my phone ringing with an unknown number. Since I didn’t have anything else to do, I answered.
“Hello?”
“Annabelle? I’m so glad you picked up.” A guy’s voice said.
“Is this Max?”
“Yes! I’m so glad you remember me, and you’re okay…”
“Why wouldn’t I be okay?” I asked, suspicious.
“Well, I just felt like you were hurting or something.” I took a sharp intake of breath.
“Is that another thing with finding your… soul mate?”
“I didn’t want to say it this way, but yes.”
I hung up on him. I couldn’t take this anymore! There was only one thing left to do, and that was to go to the woods. That was my only hope at this moment.
Back in the woods, everything was quiet. The burning in my arms cooled down under the mist, and my mind began to wander to hoping that after this walk my white shirt wouldn’t be see through. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea, but I really need the peace.
Deep inside the woods, I found a small circle that didn’t have any trees, but had a soft and cushiony ground. I laid down, seeing a few stars between the branches of the trees. They were each small and unique, glittering during the night and hiding away in the day.
I envied the stars.
When I couldn’t take being still and laying in one spot anymore, I jumped up and wandered back to the school, completely forgetting about the cameras and teachers that roam around at night, so I was startled when Sir Flagstaff walked up to me.
“I see you used up your time in my classroom?” he asked, and I jumped a mile in the air.
“U-uhh… I guess?” I stuttered. Will he be mad?
“You have a lot of power, Belle. Do you mind if I call you Belle?”
I shook my head no, and followed him back into the school.
“You do know what your future holds, correct?” I saw him glance briefly at my wrist, before continuing, “You are a very important part to everyone’s lives.”
I nodded.
“It’s not because you’re the Sun Heir, Belle. It’s because you actually mean something to a lot of people here, even if you don’t know it.”
I shrugged, trying not to act like this affected me. It was like being scolded.
Sir Flagstaff sighed, “Go to sleep now. I’m expecting you in class tomorrow. Oh, and don’t worry about cleaning up. I’ve already done that.” He winked and made his way to the teachers’ rooms across the school, and I made my way to my dorm.
I looked into the mirror and saw the my shirt was completely see through. Tomorrow I’m going to remember to wear a tank top.
I cannot believe my teacher saw that!
After changing silently into a pair of sweats and a tank top, I curled into myself and feel asleep. Right now I could really use my journal…

Here is another twist! I know that cutting yourself is a serious thing, so don't think I'm taking this lightly, and neither will anyone at Acrylic Boarding School. I just thought it was a nice twist, because now there are SO many more outcomes to the ending!
ANYWAYS, I haven't posted in a while :( AND this is late, so I'm sorry!!!
