 2 months passed and Rick and Kate had become best friends. Everyday they would go to the cafee and have coffee with each other, talking and having a good time.

 Rick often thought about asking Kate out on a date.. a real date but every time he chickened out. So he decided to give up and just be keen on being friends.

 Besides, he wasn't ready for a relationship after what happened with Kyra. Kate had come to his games and he came to hers. 

For being a freshman quarterback Rick led Stanford to 3 victories, they had only played those 3 games so far but they had won them!

 Coach had given the team a week break, it was nearing thanksgiving. They also had exams so Rick and Kate were both studying hard.

Rick walked into his dorm with Javi Behind him. 

"Man that was a hard test." Javi said and Rick answered with a yawn and plopped on the sofa. 

"Bro you look beat." Javi said. "Yea I got up at 5 to study." He said. 

"Why?! You totally aced it." He said. "Yea cus I've been studying for it all week." He said and Javi cringed. 

"Ew why." He joked and Rick rolled his eyes. "You know how coach is." he said. 

"Yea yea well I got at least a B so I'm good. Javi said and Rick rolled his eyes. "Speaking of Kate.." 

"We weren't." Rick said. "No no hear me out, have you asked her out." Espo asked. "Nope." Rick said popping the P. He had to stay still for a few seconds, he felt really dizzy.

"Why man!?" Espo asked. "You know why." He mumbled sleepily. 

Espo shook his head. "But you've known her for almost 3 months man! You guys are super close." he said and Rick glared at him. 

"She's just my friend." Rick said. 

"Nah man I'm your friend! She's a wall." He said. "Javi." Rick warned. 

"You scared and you know it." JAvi said. "Just drop it." Rick said and Javi shook his head.

 "Get some rest." He said. Rick waved his hand and laid his head on the pillow, soon falling asleep. 

Kate giggled with Lanie as they watched the football team practice. "Girl I want to meet Javi." Lanie said. 

"He's Rick's best friend." Kate said and Lanie smiled. "Speaking of Rick where is he? I don't see him." Lanie said and Kate bit her lip. "Me either." She said.
