"Alright fellas, this is it! Go for it or go home." Rick said placing his helmet on his head. 

They were playing LSU, if they won then they would go to the National Championship and face Alabama. "alright Alright guys huddle up." Jim said. 

After doing a prayer and some cheering they all ran out of the tunnel and the crowd cheered. Rick walked up to the referees with Jim and his teammate, the shook the opposing hands and listened to the rules. 

"Ok Away gets first choice." the ref said and threw the coin into the air. "Heads." Rick called. "It is heads! Stanford, receive or defend?" He asked. "Defend." Rick answered and the ref blew his whistle.

 "Let's play." He yelled. "Good job Rick! If we're down in the half, we can come back since we get the ball back." jim said and Rick nodded. As they huddled into a circle Rick began giving his teammates each slaps on the helmet.

 "Alright boys, Arizona is calling for us! Saying use our stadium to beat Alabama but we need to get through tonight." He said and they all nodded. "Do us proud." He said and then walked to the sidelines.

 He almost wished he was on the defending team right now! He wanted to play everything! "Rick keep your heart beat up." Jim said and Rick nodded. He walked up to the workout bike and began peddling, getting his heart rate up. 

He did a few more seconds before walking over to the sidelines just in time to see LSU fumble the ball! Jackson, the cornerback recovered it!

 Rick clapped hard and smiled. The water boy handed him his helmet, and Rick began walking out but Jim stopped him. "Rick we need this." He whispered and Rick nodded.

 "I got your back coach." He said and Jim nodded. He slapped his helmet sending him out to the field. "Kateee!" Lanie yelled walking into Kate's room. "Hmm? Yea Lanie." She asked as she did her homework. 

"You know your boy is playing right now?" Lanie said and Kate gasped jumping off the bed. 

"Oh my gosh I totally forgot." She said running into the living room. The commentator began speaking, "Alright folks, Stanford has the ball! It's 1 on 30." He said and Kate gasped when she saw her dad yelling harder the usual.

 "Dang girl your dad's mad." She said and Kate shook her head. "He needs to be careful, his blood pressure." She said and Lanie hummed. "True." She said. "Is Jay up." Kate asked and Lanie shook her head. 

"No he's still sleeping." Lanie answered. Rick had asked the girls to watch Jay since they would be out of town for a few days. After the whole incident Kate had he had let her have more time with Jay.

 He figured if she had more time maybe some of the pain would go away and it worked. He was even considering asking her if she wanted to do joint custody. Luckily in New York unmarried couple could do joint custody but he was hesitant. 

He never was one for having children before marriage even if it wasn't even their child. Kate shook her head and tried to pay attention to the tv. "TOUCHDOWN STANFORD!" The commentator yelled and Kate moaned, she missed it. 

"Just rewind." Lanie said and Kate glared. "Ok guys this is it, our moment of make it or break it." Rick said looking at the game clock. "We have 10 seconds to throw a screen pass, Espo if you catch it get out of bounds as fast as you can." Rick said and Javier nodded. 

Rick hiked the ball and drew back. He found Javier and threw the ball as fast as he could before the defender could tackle him. Javier made sure he stepped out of bounds so the clock would stop. They were out of timeouts! 

They all huddled, everyone breathing hard. "Guys, one more just one more." Rick said and they nodded. "We're going to do things a little different." Rick said and they looked confused. 

"SET HIKE." Rick yelled and he quickly tossed the ball to Javi, he ran up the middle then pitched the ball to Jones who pitched it back to Rick who made sure Javi was open then threw it making Javi catch it in the endzone! 

Touchdown ! Rick yelled and ran up hugging Javi who cheered as well. Kate cheered when she saw they won the game. "LANIE THEY WON!" She yelled and Lanie wiped her eyes. 

"Hmm yea nice." she yawned going back to bed. Everyone cheered in the locker room. "Alright fellas I'm proud of you." Jim said walking in with the trophy they won since they won the playoffs. "And Rick, that last play, I'm proud of you." He said and Rick smiled.

 "Alright boys get cleaned up and meet at the hotel." Jim said walking out. The next day came and Rick couldn't wait to get home. They all boarded the plane and took their seats. 

"Rick coach said he wants to talk to you." Javi said and Rick nodded. He got up and walked over to Jim's seat. 

"You wanted to see me coach?" He asked and Jim nodded. 

"As you know Kate's birthday is tomorrow, her mother and I are taking her to Hawaii, she said she wanted to wait for the phillipenes." He said and Rick nodded. 

Jim placed a ticket in his hand and Rick looked confused. "What's this?" He asked and Jim smiled.

 "And we're taking you with us." He said and Rick's eyes widened. "But seperate rooms." He warned and Rick nodded. "Of course I.. thank you coach." He said and Jim nodded. 

"What about Jay?" He asked. "Ah yes, Lanie will watch him." He said and Rick smiled.

 "She's going to love this." Rick said and Jim smiled.

 "I sure hope so." he said.
