"Alright little man, let's get you some stuff." Rick said as they entered a Babies'R'us.

Rick felt a little awkward shopping for all this stuff by himself that he eventually gave in and called for reinforcements.

When Kate arrived she wasn't expecting what she saw. "Rick?" She asked when she saw him.

"Hey." He said with a smile. "What's going on?" She said and he silently gulped.

"Ughh, I found a baby?"

Rick began explaining everything that happened.

"So you're telling me you're going to be keeping this baby for a while?!" She asked as they walked.

"His name's Jaden." He said and she sighed.

"Kate I couldn't just let him be dropped in some filthy orphanage." He said and she looked at Jaden sleeping peacefully.

"He is kinda cute." She shrugged and he smiled.

"Please don't be mad Kate." He said and she looked up into the crystal blue eyes she loved.

Kate sighed and contemplated all of this.

"I'm not and I'll help you as much as I can." She promised making him smile.

"I love you." He whispered kissing her cheek making her grin.

"Mm hmm." "Ok so I think I got some essentials." He said and she chuckled.

"Come on, Men... always need women." She said and he rolled his eyes.

After an hour of shopping, jay being surprisingly quiet they checked out with the stuff they needed for Jay.

"Ok little guy let's get you strapped in." He said and Jay looked at him

. "Dada?" He asked and Rick was so startled his head him the roof of the car when he began to lift up.

"Uhh no..Rick." He said and the infant tilted his head, his chocolate eyes full of wonder.

"Awh little daddy." Kate teased and Rick rolled his eyes.

"He's barely a year old Kate of course he's going to think I'm his father." He said and she chuckled.

"So the social worker told me that I'm going to need to get an on campus house." He said and she nodded.

"I agree." She said.

"Help me search?" He asked and she nodded.

"Is it scary?" she asked breaking the silence.

"Kinda but I know I made the right choice." He said and she nodded.

When they arrived at Rick's dorm he decided to move the couch to the side and began to construct the crib they had gotten for him.

"Ok all done." he said.

When he stood up he smiled at the sight in front of him.

Kate was asleep on the couch and Jay was snuggled into her side.

He was glad Jay liked Kate and was comfortable with her.

He quietly lifted the infant and placed him in the crib, placing a blanket over him.

"Mm Rick?" Kate mumbled. "Hey sleepyhead, you feel asleep." he chuckled and she sat up.

"He's fussying for some reason." He said and she smiled.

"One thing my mother taught me, if a baby cries there's three reasons! He's gassy, he needs a diaper change or he's hungry." She said.

"Hmm never thought of that." He said and she rolled her eyes.

"Well he's been fed, he's not gassy and I just changed him." He said and she laughed.

"Or they want to be held." He said and he smirked.

"I knew that." He said and she rolled her eyes.

"Sure you did." she said and he stuck his tongue out at her. She walked over and bent down to pick the infant up.

Jay began to wind down the fussing and Kate smiled.

"See?" She said turning to her boyfriend. Rick shook his head and walked into the kitchen.

"I'm hungry, want some take out?" He asked and she shook her head.

"No sorry, it's almost 10 I need to go." She said and he walked back into the room.

"Why?" He asked.

"Like I said, It's almost 10! You know opposite sex isn't allowed to be in the other sex's dorms after 10." She said and he sighed.

"Right, I'll see you tomorrow." he said and she nodded.

She placed the sleeping baby back in the crib and rubbed a hand over his head.

She walked over to her boyfriend and decided to spend and few moments in his strong warm arms before she left.

She hadn't had much time with him for a few days. "I love you." She said and he kissed her head.

"I love you to." He said running a hand through her long, golden curls.

She smiled and gave him a peck before grabbing her purse and walking out.

Rick sighed and sat down on the couch watching the baby look at him with wondering eyes.

"I know I know she's something special! But we're only 18 isn't it a little soon?" He asked knowing he would just get a blank stare.

Rick chuckled and shook his head. He decided to go take a shower.

As he was showering he heard the door open, he knew it was Javi.

"Rick I'm back!" He said.

"Hey baby." He said walking past the crib.

Javi stopped and shook his head. "RICK!?" He yelled.

When Rick came out drying his hair he laughed at his friend's reaction.

"what is this !?" He said totally confused.

"Can't your eyes comprehend it's a baby. He said and Javi sat down.

"There's a baby in out dorm an that's all you say!?" Javi said.

Rick rolled his eyes and smiled. "Meet Jay." He said.

"We're going to be watching him for a few weeks."

He winked and Javi fell back on the couch covering his face with his hands.
