The next day Rick decided to get a coffee before he went to campus. He had told his aunt he would pick Jayden up on the weekend.

 "Hey Rick." A voice said and Rick smiled. "Hey Javi." He said and he friend smiled. 

"I missed you man." He said and Rick chuckled. "Missed you too." he answered hugging his friend.

 "Lanie told me you saw Kate." Javi said as they walked and rick sucked in a breath. 

"Yea..she was pretty sorry." He said and Javi scoffed. 

"I never talked to her..I was so mad at her for what she did." He said and Rick gently milled.

 "I know I'm glad you care so much." Rick said and javi smiled. "You're my best friend." he murmured and Rick smiled.

 "How's coach?" Rick asked and javi chuckled.

 "Man you are so lucky you left during the offseason months! Coach was worried you wouldn't be back before practice began." Javi said and Rick rolled his eyes.

 "Football isn't till September! It's only July! I have two months." Rick scoffed and Javi chuckled. "Oh well.."

 "Soo.." Javi began and Rick smirked. 

"Come on bro, let's go to class before we get in trouble." Rick said and Javi smiled, glad his friend was still the same.

 When they arrived at campus Rick tried to find kate but was bombarded by his friends. 

Meanwhile at her dorm Kate was trying on different clothes. "What about this!?" She asked and Lanie scrunched her nose up.

 "Umm that's a little..gaudy." Lanie answered and Kate groaned loudly.

 "Lanie help me please! I want to wear something nice for him." She said and Lanie laughed. 

"Kate you know Rick doesn't care what you wear! He never did then and he won't now." Lanie said and Kate took a deep breath. 

"I know..I'm just scared..he seemed way to relaxed yesterday and I'm just guessing he's gonna blow up any moment now." Kate murmured and Lanie stood up to wrap her friend in a hug.

 "He still loves you sweetie." Lanie told her as Kate wiped her eyes with the tissue Lanie handed her.

 "I know and I don't deserve it." Kate cried. 

"Course you do, you just have to know how to not run from it." Lanie answered back. 

Kate took a deep breath and nodded.
