"Hello Rick." the Social worker said as Rick walked into her office. 

"Hi Mrs.." "Just call me Meg." She said and he nodded. "Hi Meg." He said and she smiled. 

Rick placed Jay's carrier on the chair next to him. "Hi little man." Meg said and Jay looked up. 

"How has he been?" She asked opening a file. 

"Really good! The formula he's on works, he doesn't cry a lot and he likes my roommate and my girlfriend." He said and she nodded writing all of it down. 

"Good good, and living arrangements?" She asked. 

"Well me and my roommate have searched and we found an on campus house, we're moving in tomorrow actually." He said and she nodded. 

"Very good! Now I've spoken to the nurse and she said every day she comes?" She asked and he nodded. 

"Yes, everyday at 8 she comes and takes him then I get him after practice or classes." He confirmed and she nodded.

 "Well everything seems in check!" She said and he smiled.

 "So..how long is the temporary custody thing?" He asked. 

Over the past few days not only him, but Javi and Kate both grew heavily attached to the baby and they didn't want him to go. 

Meg took a deep breath and looked him straight in the eye. 

"Well I gave you 2 months of temporarily." She said and he nodded. 

"You have about 6 weeks left but after that the state takes him." She said and he shook his head. 

"What if I apply as a foster parent?!" He said and she took a moment to look at him.

 In her line of work she had rarely seen anyone like this! Wanting to keep the baby! 

Most people wanted to get rid of the child as soon as possible. 

"Meg?" He asked and she shook her head. "Sorry um foster care? I..I could have you recommended." She said and he smiled. 

"Thanks Meg it means a lot." He said and she smiled. "No problem." She said.
