Before you read this chapter, I'd suggest reading chapter 13 first just so you're not confused or anything; the last chapter was more of a filler :) Enjoy!
The silence that surrounded the two girls was almost comforting as they entered the King-Cabello house, both shedding their shoes and jackets as they quietly made their way up to Camila's bedroom, Lauren nervously trailing behind.
Almost everything was exactly as Lauren remembered it with the exception of the additions of random band posters that were glued throughout Camila's bedroom walls, a smile pulling at Lauren's lips as she took them in.
"Oh yeah, I kinda went through a poster faze." Camila chuckled as she rubbed the back of her head, her hand missing the warmth of Lauren's as their limbs dropped away. "Don't look too hard at my One Direction one, Harry has kisses all over him."
"Camz," Lauren laughed with a shake of her head.
"What? He's adorable, I couldn't resist!" Camila protested as she sighed lightly, dropping back onto her queen sized bed and staring at Lauren who stood a few feet away. "Lo, stop acting all weird. Come lay down with me."
"Camila," Lauren began as she nibbled her lower lip, her movements hesitant as she nervously moved towards the bed and lowered herself onto the edge of the mattress. "We should talk about the kiss."
"Do you regret it?" Camila asked in a soft, nonchalant tone.
"I don't know how I feel about it. I mean, I liked it." Lauren assured her with a swift nod before drawing her lower lip into her mouth for a brief moment. "I just don't know how I feel about you. Like, really feel about you."
"I don't blame you, it's understandable. We've only been talking for a couple of weeks, and after the hell I've put you through, I can understand your hesitation." Camila whispered, propping herself onto her elbows.
"I don't understand how you're being so calm about all of this." Lauren scoffed as she pulled at a loose bedspread string. "You just kissed the girl you're supposed to hate, aren't you supposed to be having like a gay panic right now?"
"My sexuality doesn't define me, Lauren." Camila sighed with a roll of her eyes. "And as for hating you? I've never hated you, and I never will. If I'm being honest, I've attracted to you since we were about thirteen."
"I knew you were staring at me when we were changing back then." Lauren joked causing Camila to snort as she rolled her eyes, the older girl straightening her shoulders as her face grew serious a moment later. "What's going to happen between us?"
Camila sucked her lower lip into her mouth before blowing out a long sigh through her nose as she looked to Lauren, "I'd really like for us to start over, be friends. If something more happens between us then I'll be happy."
"What about school, Camz?" Lauren questioned with a raise of her eyebrow watching as the younger girl flinched slightly. "I don't want to be the cause of drama being put in your life, I think both of us have enough of that right now."
"I'm not sure," Camila hesitated for a moment as she tilted her head, thinking through what she wanted to say as she nibbled at her lower lip. "I would really like to be friends with you without having to worry about people bullying us."
"Well, from what I understand, apparently you put the word out not to lay a finger on me or else they'd end up dead." Lauren teased watching as Camila's face lit up in a blush, the brunette groaning as she buried her face in her hands.
"I was worried that you'd have to come back to a bunch of people being rude to you, I didn't want that." Camila explained, her words muffled by her hands as she sighed. "I just wanted you to come back and be happy."
