Whenever I'm stating a fact about romantic love, they would always tell that I am just bitter. When in fact, Im just being realistic. People tend to be idealistic just to escape the pain that the reality may bring to them. Being realistic may hurt us but ideals can bring pain a thousand times.
Third year high school when my Physics&Biotech teacher told our class that there is a big difference between being realistic and idealistic. That ideals were good and all, but reality was much better even if how much grievance and scarcity it may give us. And I agree. I dont want to filter the world just to hide its imperfection. I dont want to filter my world just to hide my imperfections.
I am not saying I don't want ideals. Because if I don't, then, I am not here. Being idealistic gives us the power to explore wherever, and have whatever we want.
But that is just it. Sooner or later, we have to face the reality that we cant have every living and non-living thing in this little dot of Milky way. We have to accept the fact that ideals give us lies; and reality, no matter how painful it may seem, slaps the truth in front of us. And that is what we need. The bitch slap of reality.
