Shinoa yawned and looked around the ruined warehouse she was having her sweet slumber in. She noticed hanging moss and garlic, last ditch efforts to hurt the smell of the vampires.

"They expected methods like these to work."
Makoto smiled at the garlic that was partially eaten.

"Narumi-kun? Why are you dressed in your uniform?"
Shinoa sat up and rubbed her eyes, still confused as to why Narumi was wearing his JIDA uniform.

"I'm leaving Shinoa. I'm sorry, but I can't do this. They died for me, and I have to spend my last days at the JIDA, making up for their loss."
Narumi looked more relieved than sad, almost as if he was planning on leaving them.

"If that's what you really want, go ahead. Though do know this, if you are seen with any bounty hunters, we will do what was done to your friends. But slowly, and more painfully. Or you can choose to lie and tell the JIDA we died, and not suffer the consequences."
Shinoa's voice was firm, she was calm and made sure that her point was made clear.

"As if I'm scared of a band of teens."
Narumi smirked.

"A band of teens who saved your life more than you can count."
Shinoa smiled sweetly.
"And don't forget, Yu-kun can end the world in a finger-snap."

"And I can end him in a finger snap."
Makoto narrowed his eyes at the sarcastic periwinkle, who was still half asleep.
"Good bye, traitor."

"You couldn't touch a hair on his head even if you sold your soul to the devil."
Shinoa smirked.

"That's what you think, a bunch of kids with no experience on the field."
Makoto turned to face the door.

"I'd beg to differ."
Yu pushed the restroom door aside, wiping his face with his sleeve.

Makoto grunted and pushed the main gate wide open, and recklessly too, attracting any vampires or beasts in the vicinity.

"Goodbye, Seraph."
Makoto smirked.

"You might forget us, but I'll never bring myself to kill you. You're family to me."
Yu smirked back, but he had a toothy grin to follow it.
"But if you so much as lay a toenail on Shinoa, I'll guarantee, that your death will be painful and slow. Goodbye."

And the day started of terribly. The young group of teens knew that there was someone watching over them, and to top it all off, their most experienced fighter just gave up on them.

Shinoa was not in a good mood whatsoever. Other than being slightly flushed when Yu accidentally locked hands with her, her day was utter shite.

"So he just bailed on us? Hmf. Typical humans."
Mika smirked and leaned against a support pole.

"It's alright, we had a lack of chemistry with him, he always had an eerie aura around him."
Mitsuba commented, lifting her duffel bag and throwing it over her shoulder.

"Fun. Where are we off to now?"
Yu instantly looked at Shinoa when Kimizuki asked the inevitable question.

"Supposedly, the largest city of vampires in Japan. Goes by the name 'ten'."
Shinoa looked back at Yu and winked, making him shudder and shake.

"Ten?"
Yoichi raised his hand.

"The first ten progenitors were originally peaceful, living in this town, and focused on stopping the three weapons of chaos from being found."
Shinoa continued.
"The first two were found and immediately destroyed. The last was never found, and is rumored to be in Shinjuku itself. But I don't believe petty vampire rumors, do I, Yu-chan?"
Shinoa pushed up against him and began drawing circles on his thighs.

"Uhm... You don't...?"
He leaned back until his head hit a wall, forcing him to panic.

"Cut it out."
Mika irritatedly adjusted his hair.

"Jealous?"
Shinoa smirked.

"Oh please."
Mika smirked back.

"Well. We should leave. But why are we going to the largest vampire city?"
Yoichi asked politely.

"Cuz, we wanna die."
Kimizuki was met by a slap from Mitsuba.

"Shut up and listen."
She demanded.

"Right, Mikaela said that apparently the JIDA took control of that city during the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, when the vampires were still hunched up underground. And because of the heavy radiation, cursed weapons were not needed as radiated swords were used. My sister took this event as inspiration to make cursed gears. And look where it's got us."
Shinoa smiled bitterly to herself.

"But isn't the JIDA launching an attack on Sanguinem soon?"
Mitsuba pondered.

"Yeah. That's why we're going to Ten. Because it's abandoned, and apparently is home to Crowley Eusford."
Shinoa bit the inside of her cheek just by mentioning his name.

"Crowley Eusford, the one who fed off you?"
Yu looked at Shinoa was a displeased look.
"And who gave you this information?"

"Like I said, Mikaela was kind enough to give useful information."
Shinoa smiled cheerily.

"We're moving in an hour then."
Yu became more assertive and bossy in a split second, for some reason, everyone began listening to him, even Kimizuki. Maybe the time apart from Guren changed him. Or more than changed.
