Yu.
Shinoa couldn't keep her mind of the fact that Yu was up against, potentially 3, vampires. All alone. Sure she was forced to trust Mika, but the fact that she didn't like him already made it hard to keep trusting him.
As Shinoa worried, Yu was already at the top of the apartment complex, his sword delivering deadly slices and hacks.
Chess smirked at how easy the boy could be read, even whilst carrying the seraph gene, he was this reckless.
As Chess was easily keeping her guard up, Horn was having issues with keeping Mika in line. Mika was dominating her, possibly because of her previous injury, but regardless, Mika had control.
Shinoa, Mitsuba, and Kimizuki arrived sooner or later, and managed to put more pressure on Chess, Shinoa and Yu on Chess, while Mitsuba, Mika and Kimizuki fended off Horn.
"Very smart. Who knew lowly animals like yourselves could think of such strategies and create such weapons?"
Chess smirked at the classic pairing of Shinoa and Yu, almost as if she was planning to end it there."There were many who knew we were capable of such. Kinda like Lest Karr."
Shinoa struck it. She knew she did.
She knew she struck it when Chess stopped instantly.
It was funny. It all somehow came back to her. Her more loved and worshipped sister. Mahiru. Mahiru always spoke of a child, who was turned into a vampire, and bore the unimaginable strength of thirty nobles. But that child sacrificed his strength to fend off the attacks on the vampire city of Ten. The sheer amount of enemies, and the nuclear radiation, forced him to expend his power. He was injured and wounded, by his previous kin. He was betrayed. He was back stabbed. He was lied to, and he wanted revenge. Revenge.
He rebuilt his lost strength, a tenth to its former glory, but still a force to be reckoned with. The boy was still amongst the strongest vampiric leaders to exist. The unfortunate battle of Ten, which resulted in the loss of the strongest of strong, was one of only three losses he managed to hold in his lifetime."Heh. Humans. Good at twisting beliefs."
Chess smirked, she threw her sword aside and taunted the pair."It's true. All Progenitor's know that Lest Karr was originally human."
Shinoa shrugged and dashed forwards, expecting to win the fight."Hmp."
Chess' smirk widened as she kicked Shinoa in the gut.
To think they got to my head. We don't have feelings, woman.Shinoa spat out whatever liquids that were built up in her mouth, and was sent flying backwards, her lungs deprived of air, and her ribs, caging in, causing excruciating pain.
"Shinoa—"
She heard his voice. His perfect voice. It sounded troubled. She wanted to delve deep into his heart, and she wanted to fix the troubles herself. Because his troubles, troubled her. His pains. Pained her. She never cared for anyone, anyone who wasn't her sister. Until this boy came into her life. Her joke of a life. The life that she dreaded, was now the life she loved, because of the same damned boy. Whose voice rang in her head. Whose voice broke her sorrows. The same boy, who would die for her. The boy who's name was Yuichiro Hyakuya. She knew, before she blacked out, she had truly fallen for him.Shi-chan?
'Yes?'
Why am I here?
'You've broken three ribs and torn a hamstring.'
Ouchie.
'Don't worry, I'll get you back up as soon as possible.'
Everyone knew. Shikama Dōji and Shinoa had the best bond between a human and demon. They were contracted since birth. Shinoa too young to know the ways of demons. And Dōji too concentrated on keeping this hunk of flesh alive and functioning.
Shinoa pouted though, she felt as if something went wrong.
'Anything else, Shinoa?'
How'd I get here?
'You got kicked in the gut by a noble, hit a support beam and the rest is history.'
Well. And Yu?
'You worried about him before you passed out. And I can safely say you're hopelessly in love.'
Oh please. The only person I love is you.
'Well Yuichiro just fucked that theory.'
Now come on! Don't be like this—
"How dare you?"
Yu's ears stopped working. He could see the pompous look on Chess's face, and the slow yet steady rise and fall of Shinoa's chest. He saw the debris fall ahead of him, he saw the movement of Chess' lips. But he failed to hear.
Sword. Drink my blood.
Spikes.
Power. Enough power to save Shinoa and kill both of these Nobles.
Curse. His right eye was turned completely into a maroon-ish red. It burst into flames as he stared down the foolish vampire who stood ahead of him.
"The many, shall pay, for the sins, of the one."
Yu smiled devilishly at his own comment."And who is the one?"
Chess' smirk faltered, she took a step back, fear beginning to engulf her mind."I am the one."
Yu flinched lightly, and looked at the vampire who stood ahead of him.
"Maybe if you hurt anyone else, I wouldn't be as mad. Maybe. But you chose to extinguish my candle, and I can't forgive you, or let you off so easily, can I?"Chess found herself nodding against her own will, she picked up her sword and stared down the boy.
"En Garde."
And so the battle began. It ruled over for a split second. And instantly ended.
