How often, does a human think? Because if you thought, as often as us demons, you wouldn't be in this situation; Hiragii.
That cursed name torn her heart apart. She felt bad for her younger and elder siblings; who had to represent the family in meetings. Maybe Asuramaru was right, maybe all this was her fault, and she was in utter and absolute denial. Just maybe.
— The chronicles of the seraph of the end, written by Hiragii Mahiru and her demon, Asuramaru.

Yū sat patiently by the campfire, half a day his ass, they were walking for thirteen and a half hours now. And to be completely honest, Yū had forgotten where to. His emerald eyes looked at the dancing flames, and he sighed, pushing his palms forward.
The fire crackled, it rose a few times, and burnt his fingertips, but the burns simply raised goosebumps on his soft and pale skin. He felt the fire bend to his touch, and he sighed, feeling warm.
Then the fire shot up, in a burst, covering his hand, and burning it into char. His eyes widened when he felt no pain, he blinked twice, and shook his head, looking to the side, to locate his friends; albeit it was in vain.
Finally seeing the side effects of this power, Yū?
"Asuramaru...? Side effect? This is a good power; I can bend fire to my will."
Yes. But do you think your friends will be as flexible in trusting you as before? After all, they would want to know the origin of this power.
His lips pursed into a frown. "You know they're my fam— our family."
Our? What a foolish claim. My only family died, protecting yours.
"Mahiru did not die protecting our family— she died protecting the world."
So you know of her contract with me, eh? Tell me Yū, how'd you find out?
"You talk a lot in your sleep." He mocked.
Heh. You always surprise me with your craziness. That's a trait we both undoubtedly share. I'll tell you the truth, and nothing but it. The moment Mahiru Hiragi asked me to die to Guren Ichinose; I knew that she was dying for one reason, and that was to protect that sly little sister of hers— she's a taint to this world Yū! And you need to stop her before she makes you think irrationally.
Yū went silent for a moment, he knew he was in a dream, and Asuramaru wanted to toy with his feelings, so he calmed himself, by thinking of a certain purplette, and sighing deeply.
"Shinoa definitely isn't a the sweetest of people at first glance. She's anxious, egocentric, awfully scary when mad, easily swayed, stupid and among many other things, annoying. But if you really paid close attention to her actions, you'd realize that she's only doing them to hide her pain." Yū shut his eyes; his voice crackled slightly, as he painfully chuckled. "Her facade is nothing like herself. She's sweet, at core, really quiet and introverted. Shy at times, and even pretty cute when she gets worked up over small details. But she is not a taint. She isn't a vampire. She isn't an angel. And I wouldn't want to jump the gun and say she's human; because none of us are. Maybe she's less humane than all of us."
You've fallen hard on that hollow head of yours, eh? Try not to make it obvious you love her, idiot. And hey, don't hold whatever I said against me. I didn't account for her, well... feelings?
