Sometimes, losing something is what one needs in life. Whether it is a loss of a family member, memory, or even a battle. Loss brings change. Victory does not.
- Guren, reading a page out of Mahiru Hiragi's diary.Guren was upset. Shinya and his superiors were throwing him a mission every given chance. He had only seen his squad once in the last three weeks; and even that reunion was short lived.
Mahiru, on the other hand, was quite happy. She was eternally in Guren's heart; therefore she was content with the life she was currently living. But with that happiness came jealousy. Jealousy of not being able to walk around freely. She would occasionally take control of Guren, and would simply start doing little things that would hurt Kureto's chances of progressing with the Seraph project.
Guren, could I take control for a—
No.
But—
I said no.
Hmph. Fine.
Troublesome woman. Just like her sister, Mahiru would often be cross at Guren. Unlike Shinoa, Mahiru was simply mad because he wouldn't give up his body to the woman. Whereas Shinoa was mad at him for backstabbing her, betraying his family, turning Yu into a monster, forcing Mirai to go through with the seraph project, etc.
Speaking of Shinoa. She assigned herself to the dutiful task of watching over Yu. Of course his steady breathing, and calm expression was a breathtaking sight to see; but the fact that he was randomly mentioning things in his sleep annoyed her. Who knew he had such a passion for football? Shinoa smiled softly at his sleeping form, tempted to kiss the hell out of him.
As Shinoa dreamt of kissing Yu, Yu dreamt of kissing Shinoa. The dream was simple; the two were getting married, and Guren happened to be the priest.
But all dreams came to an end, and so did that one. Yu's eyes opened slowly, the first thing to capture his senses, was the elegant Shinoa sat beside him.
"Good morning, Prince." Shinoa snorted, a smirk rolling over her mouth.
"Morning, Shinoa." Yu sat up, rubbing his eyes clear of tiredness. "What'd I miss?"
"Nothing much, everyone else also went back to sleep, so you and I happen to be the only ones awake." Shinoa stood up, stretching out weakly.
"How long was I out?"
"Four hours, maybe less."
"What?" Yu choked. "You can't be serious,"
"I am, look at these eyes boy, do they not look serious to you?" Shinoa took the opportunity to wink at the taller male, and giggle girlishly.
"Don't call me boy, girl."
"Cherry b—"
"Shortie."
"Hmph." Shinoa crossed her arms, and looked away.
"Wait; I'm sorry, I didn't mean—" Yu sighed, he read her like a book, he knew she was trying to make him feel bad, but he allowed her to. "I'm sorry." He looked down innocently, his green eyes darkening as a sad expression made its way onto his face.
"Hehe." In a matter of milliseconds, Shinoa broke into laughter. "You should've seen the look on your face!" She quickly jumped onto him, pushing him down on the bed.
"Alright! Alright!" He let a set of chuckles and smiled at the small sergeants actions.
A sweet silence took over them as they looked each other in the eye, each of their cheeks brighter than the others.
"I, uh, Shinoa?"
"Mhm?"
"Erm... Nothing."
Shinoa slowly nodded, her face completely red, and as hot a furnace.
"You, uhm, have nice eyes, Yu."
"T-Thanks. You have a cute voice, Shinoa."
"Go figure."
Yu chuckled uneasily, his nervousness evident in his voice.
"You wouldn't mind me, you know, hugging, you, would you?" Shinoa mumbled, her eyes now covered by her marshmallow colored hair.
Yu shook his head violently; almost as if he wanted to be hugged. Who was he kidding? He was dying to be hugged.
Shinoa awkwardly wrapped her arms around his wide and broad shoulders, her head resting on his chest. As she listened to his heartbeat, her eyes shut themselves, sending her into a drowsy state.
"Good... night..." Shinoa snuggled her head against his chest even deeper, and yawned.
"Good night, Shinoa." Yu put a hand on her head and stroked her hair gently.
And off she drifted into a sweet and comfortable slumber.
