I walked over to the place to where Bianca had told me to meet her. It was a coffee shop just 10 minutes away from my house. I roamed my eyes around to look for her. When I realized she was not yet here, I decided to sit on the table just right beside the glass window.

Right now, I still don’t know why she would want to meet me.

I looked at my wristwatch. Her call really made me clueless of what she was about to tell me.

“Sorry. I’m late.”

“Laine.” Tawag nya sa akin.

“Hmm?” I mumbled, my eyes were not on hers but on the cup of coffee I’m playing my hands with.

“I decided to meet you because I wanted to tell you something.” She said, boring her eyes into mine. I couldn’t read what her eyes say, a hint of sadness and joy would be written there if only it’s possible.

I took a mouthful of air before I asked her. “About what?”

“I’m going back to New York.”

Is she really going back there? Somehow, the thought of it made me feel guilty even more.

“Bianca…” “Sorry ---“

“I should be the one to say that.” She said, cutting midway of my sentence. I looked up at her and stare right through her eyes. They were also looking at me with pure sincerity. She continued when I did not speak, “I guess, what I did to you -- that was really selfish of me but… but, you can’t blame me, I love him and he’s the only person I thought I’d be with.” She smiled but did not quite reach her eyes. “I was like a clock with dead batteries. Time was frozen and the world seemed like walking past ahead of the future but not me, I wasn’t looking forward, my feet were stuck to where I thought would last forever.” She smiled once again before she let out a sad and gloomy sigh.

“I… I’m really sorry Bianca.” That was all I could say at this moment. God knows how I really feel about this, this whole thing what Bianca had said. I feel guilty, and I really feel sorry for her.
