The Views of Emotion
I'm so tired, but I'm awake.
I'm aware, but the constant cloud is disorienting.
My body is here but my mind floats above my mechanical limbs.
My emotions are turbulent at best.
Occasional sparks fling themselves from my fried receptors.
Curves and lines squiggle themselves onto slaughtered and processed trees.
Voices swim through the haze.
Teacher, teacher, make me learn the things I'll forget.
Forced smiles and unpleasant eyes flash into view.
We lie to salve wounds, but tear veins when we whisper to ourselves.
Lover, lover, hold me dear.
We'll make a new world of you and me.
Let's make it sunny but with a cool breeze skipping through the trees.
Let weeds of dandelions blow wishes into the sky, and we'll wait for the stars to wish upon again.
Twinkling rivers and looming mountains blur the landscape in the world of two.
Name the sun and grow its happiness with your smile.
Clouds may roll in and the storms will ensue.
But, I'd like to stay, if that's OK with you.
Looking through glass paints my distorted visage.
I see the warped view and a sigh sets deep in my eyes.
My eyes drip until dry when I believe what I see.
Why would anyone want to be around little, nasty me?
As misery sets in, I know it's not fit for company.
Thinking I deserve what emotions scream, I don't think anyone should be around me.
So break all the glass and chase away the clouds, if you want, with me.
We'll make wises into reality in our lopsided world.
The mountains must be climbed to change the sky.
If you feel up for the hike, I wouldn't mind the view.
I'll lace up my shoes to trudgeup to the sky.
If you want to endeavor, you can come too.
The weather is so much more pleasant when you're within view.
