It's real not imaginary. Some people are born with it and some gain one... Better-better off alone so that no one is dragged down along too. Making promises are for early graves. Disappointment is an unwanted shadow. How many shadows does it take before things start to get heavy? Pushing down on soft, barely frozen ground. Things crack on the slightest tremor. The stumbling snaps footholds into crumpling failure. Eaten but still alive. Set on fire but still breathing. Frozen to the marrow but still awake. Dripping veins empty but still still so very much aware of each pinprick. Another wound to the dismantled, disintegrated, and desperate empty child screaming for someone to stop. Just listen. But the mocking laughter drowns out the voiceless, waterlogged child howling in misery and torment.
