"All that shit with mom last night has me rattled I guess. I let my mind wonder too much and started picturing the terrible things that happened to Faith when she was younger...guess my imagination got the better of me." I attempt to shrug it off.
"Your mom told me she kind of spazzed out last night; said she smashed a wine bottle above Faiths head and said a bunch of stuff she shouldn't have. I don't really know the details about Faith when she was younger other than what her asshole ex did to her but I do know her mom was a drunken idiot so I'm sure your mother must have really scared her last night."
"She was so scared...she rolled herself into a ball and she couldn't stop shaking or crying; she ended up crying herself to sleep. I could barely move an inch in my sleep last night without her clutching onto me; like she was afraid I was going to leave her or something."
"How is she today?" Jake asks with concern.
"She's...good...I think." I bite down on my lip ring to hide the grin on my face. Other than the little hiccup about the conversation about bruising; Faith really did seem to be much better today. Better than I was first thing this morning. Better than I was just a few minutes ago.
"That's good." Jake chuckles because even though I am trying to hide my smile he can still read my eyes; he knows me too well.
"I don't want to talk about my mother anymore. I want to hear how your movie went last night?"
"We never got to watch a movie because someone; who will remain nameless; called me and asked me to take his mother home." He jokes.
"Did she end up going home then? I really am sorry about that Jake."
"Don't be sorry Landon. You know I would do anything for you." His tone is serious.
"I know." I say with a small grin.
"I took your mom to your grams and ended up staying there for almost an hour listening to her cry about how fucked up she is. I helped her change her clothes and then put her to bed before I left."
"Ewe! You helped my mom change?"
"I didn't look or anything you sick fucker."
"Sorry, it's just weird." I admit.
"It was weird but what was I supposed to do? Your grandmother scares me more than your mother does and I sure as hell didn't want to wake her up." Jake shudders at the thought of my grandmother; the old woman is definitely someone to be scared of; hell, even I avoid her like the plague.
"I can just imagine what kind of payback you are planning on cashing in for doing me that favor." I joke.
"I'll think of something." He jokes.
"So did she leave then?"
"Who?"
"Callie, you idiot! Did she end up leaving last night?"
"Oh, no, she didn't leave." Jake chuckles.
"You fucked her didn't you?" I say in shock because of the look he just gave me.
"No! She was fast asleep on my couch when I got home."
"Oh...geez that was anticlimactic." I joke.
"But wait there's more." Jake says with a sneaky grin.
"Spill it Anderson." I say in excitement.
"Okay so there she was, looking all sweet, sleeping on my tiny ass couch..."
