"I hope dad isn't pissed." I say as I back out of the driveway.
"Why would he be mad?" Faith asks.
"Because he went to bed without knowing where we were."
"I texted him before we started the movie to let him know we were at Jake's and we would be home late."
"Thank you pretty girl." I say with relief.
"I didn't want him to worry." She says with a shrug.
"Such a little suck ass; making sure dad knows where we are. Why can't you be a rebel like me?" I joke with her.
"Don't be jealous because your dad loves me more than he loves you." She jokes back.
"Just as long as you love me more than you love him."
"Always babe." She grins.
"What do you think's going on at Andersons house right now?" I chuckle.
"I don't know but I'm sure I'll find out tomorrow." She laughs.
"I wish you didn't have to work tomorrow."
"I know but I have to since Lou gave me Saturday off. This week is going to be exhausting for me. Not only do I have almost fifty hours scheduled but I have so much to get done before I cut my hours back next week. I don't want to leave Lou with too much work."
"I will be happier than a pig in shit when you cut your hours back."
"Yeah, me too. We will get to spend lots of time together the two weeks before school starts and then I'm going to get to see how you feel."
"What do you mean?" I ask in confusion as I pull the van into the driveway and shut the engine off.
Faith and I pause our conversation long enough to get into the house and back to my bedroom before she turns to look at me as she takes her shoes off.
"I made a phone call to Bridgefield when I was at work on Friday about what I need to do to transfer from Greenfield to there. They told me that I either had to get my mother to sign the transfer papers or wait until I'm eighteen and then I can sign them myself. I was about ready to give up and just start the year out at Greenfield but then the secretary at your school told me that I could make up the first three weeks of class work at home on the computer. She said her suggestion to me would be for me to just not start school at all until I'm eighteen and can sign the transfer papers myself."
"That's what you're doing then?"
"I think it makes the most sense. You know how the schools are; usually there aren't many assignments for the first week or two anyhow so it shouldn't be too much work to catch up on. I only need four credits to graduate anyhow so it will all work out fine."
"Sounds like a great plan." I say as I climb in bed.
"I'm going to be bored out of my mind when you're in school all day." She says as she glues herself to my side.
"You'll find something to do."
"I wish I could draw like you do; that would give me something to do all day. If I could draw pictures of my hot boyfriend all day then it would help me get through how much I miss him." She says as she tickles her fingertips across my bare chest.
"You can always keep yourself busy by trying out new recipes. You can get up in the morning and look up a recipe and then you can go to the store and get everything you need and come home and cook."
"Every day?"
"Sure, why not?"
"That could get real expensive, real fast."
