When we were back at home, Rob and Vikk were just babbling on about video games, and Mitch and Jerome were bantering by the pool. That included a scream emitting from the back door every once in a while, followed by a splash, and laughter. And sometimes, more screaming. We just shook it off, knowing that if we went outside with them, we'd end up in the pool. But that surely doesn't mean we can't laugh at their childishness.
Preston and I, though, just sat on the cough, on our phones. We had our backs against each other, legs outstretched to lay outward on the couch. Or in my case, hang off the couch.
Every once in a while he would hold his phone up to me to show me something funny he found, his body shaking mine from his laughter.
This is what happened for a few hours. The only difference, was that Mitch and Jerome had transitioned to the living room with the rest of us, pulling us into the banter as well.
At one point we just cut off the lights, while the lights from our phones. It kind of reminded me of Mitch's birthday, besides the fact that we could actually turn on the lights when we wanted. But I shook the thought away, continuing to scroll through the different social media sites on my phone.
"I'm bored." Mitch groans, falling backwards onto the couch. Which, he landed on Jerome's lap.
"Merome~" Preston and I say at the same time, high fiving each other lazily since we faced opposite directions. We missed a few times, finally making a successful high five after the fourth try. Vikk laughed sleepily at us, while Rob just continued to share at his phone. "Join the club," Preston continues, gesturing to the dark room full of phones.
But the akwardness never subsided, everyone falling back into the silence. I got bored with my phone, so I just leaned back onto Preston's head. I made Jerome get my charger after 5 rounds of rock paper scissors, so if I needed it, I was covered. Preston hadn't stopped showing me funny pictures, his entire body shaking as he wheezed of laughter. While I acted as a dead pan, merely chuckling every time. He eventually stopped, which I found quite strange. A little bit after, I had gotten a text.

Kay. Well if you need to talk, I'm here💘I roll my eyes at his comment, locking my phone. Somewhat surprised he didn't call me babe.
Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, but he is a flirt to anyone and everyone. I'm still curious as to if Poofless will ship anytime soon, with Preston's confidence.
I decide to give myself the time to think about his last text. Closing my eyes to give them a break from the contrast of darkness to the lighting of my phone, my thoughts wander to my dream.
I should tell someone. My conscience is basically begging me to to tell someone.
I crack open my eyes and turn my head slightly to peer at Preston, whom is just scrolling through Twitter with an unreadable expression on his face.
While looking at him, an uneasy expression forms on my face, my mouth is basically a slanted line. I slowly look at the others, who are all on the borderline between sleep and conciousness. I turn back to my original position, tilting my head upwards and closing my eyes.
Who would I tell though?
My best bets are Vikk or Preston.
I tilt my head to the side, looking at the two. Vikk's face is peaceful, his dark hair falling atop his forhead. His eyes closed, but it's obviou he's at least slightly awake, due to his frequent changes in his sleeping figure.
I sit forward slowly, my back aching as I move for the first time in about two and a half hours.
Bad idea.
I turn to find him twisted slightly, looking back at me. His face is illuminated from his phone, which is lying on the couch below us as he stares at me.
I smile weakly at him, trying to get him to turn back around so it doesn't look like I'm some weird stalker. But right now, it looks like we're about to make out.
Dammit. This is really awkward now.
"Tell me what's wrong," he whispers quietly, before looking at the others in the room. "Don't deny that something's wrong."
I stare at him, eyes wide. Hopefully, he couldn't see my surprised face.
Was it really that obvious? I thought I was doing well.
I nod slowly, biting my lip. "Not right now," I whisper. "Meet me outside the pool, 4 hours. Don't bring or tell anyone but Vikk, okay?" I whisper quickly.
I instantly stop after those words escape my mouth. Why in hell did I say that?
He raises his eyebrow at my proposal, which I just nod my head at him in response. He hesitantly turns back around, putting headphones in his ears.
Damn. Should've made Jerome get my headphones too.
I lean my back against his, picking up my phone and unlocking it. I go to my text messages, telling Vikk the same thing I had told Preston. I hesitated before shutting my eyes and pressing send, locking my phone.
I hear Vikk's phone ding quietly, followed by a quiet noise of annoyance. I don't pay attention any longer, knowing he'd probably ask questions if I talk to him. So I set an alarm for 3 hours from now, close my eyes, and let the hunger for rest consume me.
