- One Year Later - :)
"Hey ma! Where are my pins?" It was graduation day for tenth graders. Sasha was wearing a black saree with golden polka dots. It made her look twice her age, and her dad made fun of her by going around the house shouting "I can't find my daughter!".
"I put them right on your table! Hurry up!" Sasha pulled up a bit of her saree so her legs could have room for walking. And then she ran to her table to grab the pins. After Sasha was all pinned up, her mom forced her to take a picture of her.
"Mumma! Not now! I am late!" She grabbed a small white purse and rushed to the door.
Sasha's was as normal as any other person. She had undergone six months of dosage of an injection which would counter the cancer cancer cells. It hadn't been completely rectified, but she looked fit and fine. When she was diagnosed again, there was no danger. That was six months ago.
As for Karan, he had lied. Again. His threats were all empty - he didn't take any 'revenge'. They kept out of each other's sight as well. Sasha would swell up with anger at the sight of him.
Sohail and Sasha never talked, never mailed, or never saw each other for another year. Sasha had no intention to, anyway. She was not over him, neither did she love him.
Jeet. Poor Jeet. Sasha and Jeet talked only sometimes, and Jeet never revealed to her that he had feelings for her.
Sasha stepped on the bus with caution and care. She made her way to the end of the bus and sat with an excited thud. Who wouldn't be excited? It was graduation! The bus slowly filled up. But half the people were missing. Only the senior section of the school were attending the 'party'!
Everyone was so excited. There were many clicks, and posing, and laughing, and chattering.
The whole bus went into silence once they reached school.
"Aradhya! You look hot." Sasha gave her a wink. Which she returned.
Preet and Riya showed up in no time and the ceremony began. All tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders filled into the auditorium and with an invocation, the event started.
All the teachers took turns to bid their students. Some music and dance also lifted the atmosphere. Then everybody had to go to their class teachers to get their yearbooks.
By the end of the day, however, the atmosphere turned gloomy and emotional. It was their last day, after all. Last time they could enjoy the company of their friends - sitting for lunch together, bunking classes together! Dance and music programmes! Exciting events! It was all over. Only thing left was: a horrible college life.
Sasha had decided not to leave school, but continue till twelfth. But Aradhya was leaving. She aimed to be a dancer and open a school perhaps. So she was taking part in a training camp which was out of India. And, she was leaving for three months.
Aradhya had promised that in some time, she would drop by us and trouble us all she could.
The principal was giving a closing speech when Sasha noticed Jeet standing at the end of the hall, alone.
"Hey Jeet! Didnt see you at all!" Sasha flashed a smile at him. Jeet had grown three inches taller, and Sasha had to look him up.
"Hey sash. You look nice." He returned a smile. "Thanks Jeet."
And they stood there, in a quiet corner, away form the crowd. Jeet felt really hot now. Maybe his kurta was too thick. Or maybe he was blushing that bad. As the people started to scatter as the ceremony had gotten over, he held her hand.
"Are you leaving school?" He asked with a nervous grin.
Sasha was herself really nervous, she could feel the butterflies in her stomach as she held Jeet's warm hand.
"No. You?"
"No." He let go of her hand and said "Did I freak you out? I am sorry!"
"Hey, no." Jeet murmured something to himself and then said "I have something to tel-" he was interrupted when Riya barged into the conversation. "You can't just steal her like that! Back off." Riya joked and took Sasha away.
Jeet had tried. But something always happened and Sasha was snatched away.
Jeet loved Sasha. She was so...different. He really adored her extremist behaviour. At times she was the sweetest, but she could be the meanest if she wanted to. Sometimes she was so serious, and at other times she would laugh at everything. She was tall. (Only an attributing factor) But most of all, he loved her shyness. Sasha was always so shy and scared with new people. And of course, he felt happy with her. That was all that mattered, right?
"Bye Jeet!" Sasha waved her hand frantically. He smiled back and waved.
He would get her. In his own time.
